Whether you are looking for a program guest, emcee, or keynote speaker, I have 20 years of experience. I craft custom presentations that cater to the unique needs of your congregation or organization. If your group is large or small, I serve them all. Each time I speak, my goal is for the audience to receive what they need from God and what they don't know they need from each other. I accomplish this goal by cultivating an environment that fosters dialogue and collaboration, rather than monologue and competition. I am the author of an Amazon Best-Selling Journal titled "Stop Write There," and my latest project is a curriculum designed for wives/engaged women titled "Wifey."
Profound, Prolific and Powerful are only a few extra "P" words to describe Poplar's presence and gift as a speaker, coach and writer. She's a down-to-earth sister who makes walls fall and creates atmospheres for "ah-has" and "ha-has" all at the same time. Toya Poplar shares insight with just the right words and, even better, from the right heart. Her passion to encourage and empower others runs through her like water and ink, as she speaks and pens that which gives life, and life more abundantly. She is one-of-His-kind, and a delightful vessel for the Voice of Truth in a world saturated with noise... if you dare have ears to hear!
Toya Poplar is dear friend and sister in Christ. It's been a privilege to partner with her in various ministries throughout the years. Toya's one of most gifted persons I know, and she has an authentic, graceful and humble spirit. I highly recommend her as speaker.
Response from Toya Poplar:
Pastor Alex,
It is always a joy and a pleasure to serve you and your congregation in whatever capacity you deem me worthy. Your consistent support and wise counsel has been a key motivation in my effort to promote racial reconciliation. Thank you for your review. I look forward to seeing you and your family soon at our next Diversity Dinner!
The message of a Kingdom from Heaven to Earth is revolutionary, and disruptive, but is necessary to bring about change. To be able to articulate that message to where it weaves into every aspect of our lives is a powerful gift. Having served together in ministry, I have personally observed how Toya has been gifted by God to bring that message to where it fits in marriage, family, and society to bring about lasting change! So proud to see how God is impacting the world through her ministry.
Response from Toya Poplar:
Bishop D,
Wow, what an honor it is to have learned from, and led with you in ministry. Thank you so much for your review. I am grateful for you entrusting Melvin and I to serve in the capacity of youth pastors for Youth Alive. We love KCM and wouldn't be who we are without your incredible leadership. Thank you for equipping us to help people connect to God, His Kingdom, and His purpose for their lives.
This unique individual has the ability to draw people in as she speaks powerful and encouraging words, which come directly from her heart. As a compelling speaker, Toya pulls the audience into her world while at the same time she traverses to theirs, delivering heartfelt messages of acceptance, reconciliation, forgiveness, and healing. As we know, things do not always go as planned, but even under duress, Toya handles herself with grace, charm and professionalism. From our first meeting and hugs, I felt friendship and comfort in her presence as she embodies love, understanding and compassion, all the while proclaiming her love for the Lord.
Response from Toya Poplar:
Dear Mrs. Wanda,
Thank you for inviting me to share during the "Who is My Neighbor" workshop during the 2018 Overflow Conference. I appreciated the tremendous support from your team and the receptive hearts of each workshop participant. Your love, hugs, compassion, and kindness are traits I won't forget. I use my Stone River thermos daily. Please thank your team for their extra special tokens of hospitality.
To know Toya is to love her! I have had the privilege to witness her on and off the stage and have been amazed at how she is a woman who embodies what you shares with others. Her heart is genuine and her love pours out on her audiences as she empowers and uplifts listeners with her speaking. She knows how to masterfully connect with all backgrounds and leaves people inspired to be their best selves. I would highly recommend as a speaker!
Response from Toya Poplar:
What an honor it is to receive a review from one of my favorite speakers! Thank you for inviting me to share about Killing the Superwoman Syndrome at Saved in the City 2019. It has become one of my favorite topics to teach and I have made it my mission to practice what I preach. Your team was excellent in every way. Please thank them for their hospitality and their impeccable attention to details.
I have had the joy of collaborating with Toya in public ministry and celebrating friendship privately. What I appreciate most about Toya is the integrity of her character. She lives what she speaks and teaches. Toya forms bridges with her words, crossing generational gaps and cultural divides as she proclaims Gospel truth and its implications. She inspires listeners and participants to imagine what life could be like if Gospel shalom reached every sector of our society. Toya is a skillful, lyrical, radiant, wise and compelling speaker.
Response from Toya Poplar:
Is it ok for me to have a fangirl moment? Rica McRoy, you are resplendent! Thank you for your remarkable review. You have no idea what it means to me that you would not only invite me to share a stage with you but that you would invite me to do life with you as a cherished friend. Your insightful teaching consistently reminds me of how science is always on a mission to catch up with God's Word. Thank you for inviting me to bring the culture of heaven to earth.
I have had the privilege and honor of knowing this amazing Daughter Of Zion named Toya Poplar. Her mere presence Grace’s any space that God has called her to be in. Our Fellowship has had the special favor of God showered upon us as she sat in the midst of wounded women and felt their wounds and loved them in the midst of them. She offered love to those who thought they couldn’t love or be loved. She offered joy to those who were mourning while sitting with them in their mourning. These are just a few of the things she did, simply by opening her mouth and greeting the women in the room. What a gift to the body of Christ she is. You will instantly look forward to the next encounter even as you are entering the first. You want to hear her. You really do!
Response from Toya Poplar:
Thank you for your extraordinary leadership. Your team was remarkable. Their attention to detail was incredible. Showering me with hospitality and hugs from beginning to end. Please extend my gratitude and let everyone know that I can't wait to hear what they think of Stop Write There.
The very first words you hear Toya speak, you're captivated. She pulls in every ear from the room and has you engaged from her passion and instant relatability. Toya is not only a talented speaker, but has the gift to massage your mind and align thought patterns you wish that you had years prior. I consider myself one of the fortunate to have been graced by her exceptionalism.
Response from Toya Poplar:
Mr. Shocklee, it was such an honor to record Stop Write There on audio in your state of the art studio. I still marvel at your meticulousness and the way I could feel you absorb the words as I spoke.
It is an honor to work with you and your beautiful wife. Both you and Beckah have consistently fanned the flame of both writing /speaking in my life. You are both not only gifted. You are a gift.
Toya Poplar is an awesome speaker. She has the gifts of engagement, connection and relationship building. She is a great story teller and is well prepared with her discussion points. Toya provides her audiences with references points for post study. Toya's voice and diction allow her to excel at public speaking.
I highly recommend Toya Poplar!

First and foremost, I believe in the power of the common touch. So don't be surprised if I step down off the platform to draw closer to the crowd. I am a personal, present, and passionate person. So my top priority will be to make your audience feel like they are special guests.
The three main components of every talk are diversity, creativity, and care. Diversity is essential when it comes to the gospel's power to be culturally relatable. It is my deep conviction that everyone, no matter their difference, can find themselves in the gospel. Creativity has a way of bypassing the intellect and penetrating the heart. People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care. With each keynote, I make it my mission to foster engagement that will breed connectivity among the audience.
I’m fearless in the face of discussing difficult subjects. My only fear is of what will happen if we don't begin to talk about the topics that divide us. I love Q&A and welcome you to submit questions from your group to me beforehand.
Toya Poplar is a speaker, literary midwife, and racial reconciler. She understands that she was designed to live creatively and invests her time and energy in encouraging others to do the same.
Toya leads a support group for creative entrepreneurs, hosts monthly silent writing retreats, bi-monthly diversity dinners, and does what she refers to as "holy" ghostwriting for pastors and business leaders. Toya’s words, whether written or spoken, will motivate you to chase your dreams to fruition.
Family is her sanctuary, and having a healthy marriage and pouring love into her family is always a top priority. Married to her high school sweetheart of 20 years, together they are the grateful parents of six children. It’s safe to say that the Poplar’s home life is about as colorful as the lipstick she wears.
Although Toya enjoys fostering environments that bring people together in groups, she is aware of the occasional need to receive one-on-one guidance. Through Invest Your Life Ministries, Toya shares gospel-centered wisdom by encouraging individuals to invest their lives in what matters most.
Speaker requires a microphone. If using a headset or Lavalier Wireless Microphone a soundcheck is required. I am a Mac/Keynote presenter. Please let me know if a Mac to VGA or MAC to HDMI adapter is available?
