Overview
Whether you are looking for a program guest, emcee, or keynote speaker, I have 20 years of experience. I craft custom presentations that cater to the unique needs of your congregation or organization. If your group is large or small, I serve them all. Each time I speak, my goal is for the audience to receive what they need from God and what they don't know they need from each other. I accomplish this goal by cultivating an environment that fosters dialogue and collaboration, rather than monologue and competition. I am the author of an Amazon Best-Selling Journal titled "Stop Write There," and my latest project is a curriculum designed for wives/engaged women titled "Wifey."

I have had the privilege and honor of knowing this amazing Daughter Of Zion named Toya Poplar. Her mere presence Grace’s any space that God has called her to be in. Our Fellowship has had the special favor of God showered upon us as she sat in the midst of wounded women and felt their wounds and loved them in the midst of them. She offered love to those who thought they couldn’t love or be loved. She offered joy to those who were mourning while sitting with them in their mourning. These are just a few of the things she did, simply by opening her mouth and greeting the women in the room. What a gift to the body of Christ she is. What to Expect
First and foremost, I believe in the power of the common touch. So don't be surprised if I step down off the platform to draw closer to the crowd. I am a personal, present, and passionate person. So my top priority will be to make your audience feel like they are special guests.
The three main components of every talk are diversity, creativity, and care. Diversity is essential when it comes to the gospel's power to be culturally relatable. It is my deep conviction that everyone, no matter their difference, can find themselves in the gospel. Creativity has a way of bypassing the intellect and penetrating the heart. People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care. With each keynote, I make it my mission to foster engagement that will breed connectivity among the audience.
I’m fearless in the face of discussing difficult subjects. My only fear is of what will happen if we don't begin to talk about the topics that divide us. I love Q&A and welcome you to submit questions from your group to me beforehand.
About
Toya Poplar is a speaker, literary midwife, and racial reconciler. She understands that she was designed to live creatively and invests her time and energy in encouraging others to do the same.
Toya leads a support group for creative entrepreneurs, hosts monthly silent writing retreats, bi-monthly diversity dinners, and does what she refers to as "holy" ghostwriting for pastors and business leaders. Toya’s words, whether written or spoken, will motivate you to chase your dreams to fruition.
Family is her sanctuary, and having a healthy marriage and pouring love into her family is always a top priority. Married to her high school sweetheart of 20 years, together they are the grateful parents of six children. It’s safe to say that the Poplar’s home life is about as colorful as the lipstick she wears.
Although Toya enjoys fostering environments that bring people together in groups, she is aware of the occasional need to receive one-on-one guidance. Through Invest Your Life Ministries, Toya shares gospel-centered wisdom by encouraging individuals to invest their lives in what matters most.
