Trace Repeat is a funk and soul band from Oakland, CA. We write unique funk arrangements of Top 40 classics from the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s. Our arrangements have infectious grooves, and our high energy live performances always get crowds dancing.
If you are looking for a straight ahead wedding/event cover band, it is possible that we may not be the right band for your event. We don't write straight ahead cover arrangements, so lots of folks don't always immediately know the song we're covering. But if you are looking for a truly unique dance band that your guests will be sure to remember, we've got you covered.
Trace Repeat really made our wedding special. Members interacted with guests and really for everyone dancing. Their music can not be beat! A great mix of original funk and covers. On top of everything else they were very self sufficient, communicative, and just plain fun! We would not hesitate to book them again.
Trace Repeat played in my backyard for my 40th birthday party. It was such a good time for everyone. The sounds they produce is catching and everyone gets caught up in the fun vibes they are putting out there. They even had some fun with our backyard props! Great group and would highly recommend them. Can't wait till I get another excuse to invite them over again!
I can't say how much I've loved booking this band. They have played at our venue multiple times and not only is their music amazing, but the performance and their stage presence is electrifying. Plus, they are incredibly professional and easy to work with. Love them!
Amazing! We had a great time hosting Trace Repeat for some of our events at Mike's Paddle (stand up paddle board shop). Wesley was professional and courteous in terms managing contract and events related issues. The band was amazing - put on a real great show. Such a talented group with great singers and passion. Definitely highly recommended!

Trace Repeat was a big crowd-pleaser at the Corte Madera Summer Concerts on July 7. Interesting originals and unique covers. Highlights were the interplay between vocalists, the horn section, and the overall tightness of the band. Highly recommend for a high energy and high quality show.

I've booked Trace Repeat for a couple of different performances and they are always easy to communicate with, very professional, show up when requested (or earlier). Their performances are fun + loud + lively. Great for dancing. Music is acceptable across all generations.

We were so fortunate to find and book Trace Repeat! They were the easiest vendor to work with - quick to respond to questions, handled their own set up, were punctual, etc. Band members walked around the space and really engaged with our party in an authentic non cheesy way. Everyone at our wedding loved them. Best of All, they have a wonderfully funky set list of original music and covers. Highly danceable. We are huge fans of their sound and have gone to see them perform at other gigs.

I manage the taproom at Sudwerk Brewing Company in Davis, California and have booked Trace Repeat to play our brewery on multiple occasions. They now perform once a month for our Second Saturday Funk night. Trace Repeat puts their own twist on traditional funk for an unbeatable, high energy, soul-packed show. They're versatile enough to tone down for smaller crowds and turn up for bigger ones. They're professional, punctual, and always play their hearts out.

Trace Repeat brings a high level of energy and intensity to the stage, built on their ability to write infectious songs and arrange classic Motown Soul and 70s Funk covers with a tasty new twist. At the same time, they are also all dynamically aware musicians that are able to adapt to any room and/or audience, big or small. They can bring the funk and get people moving without being overbearingly loud, in other words.
