Traditions

The Traditions were Formed in 1983, The Traditions have performed for Hundreds of vocal group harmony enthusiasts at major venues throughout the tri-state area, including the Westbury Music Fair, the Continental / Byrne Arena at the Meadowlands, the Nassau Veteran's Memorial Coliseum, the Plaza Hotel, the Copacabana, and Carnegie Hall. They have also been active in the Media, with appearances on numerous radio and television programs such as Don K. Reed's Doo-Wop Shop (WCBS-FM), Mickey B's Juke Box Revue (WGBB-AM), the Dennis Falcone Show (B-103-FM), the Art Lauria Show (WLNY-TV55), and New 12 Long Island.
The "Trads" have performed with virtually all of the legends of Rock 'n Roll and Rhythm & Blues, including The Platters, The Teenagers, LaVern Baker, Ruth Brown, the Drifters, the 5 Satins, Lou Christie, Larry Chance and The Earls, Lenny Cocco and The Chimes, Gene Pitney, Little Anthony & The Imperials, Davey Jones, Bobby Rydell, and Johnny Maestro & The Brooklyn Bridge.

The Traditions have recorded four albums of memorable and "traditional" tunes. Our latest album, entitled "Legacy", is a tribute to the musical legacy of all the magnificent vocal groups past and present. The Traditions' repertoire of over 50 songs includes such all-time favorites as "Teardrops", "It's All In The Game", "(I'm On The) Outside Looking In", "Gee", "Wonderful Wonderful", "Misty", "In The Still Of The Night", "Hello Stranger", "Daddy's Home","Have You Heard", and "'Long, Long And Lonely Nights"

We have decided to extend our "gigs" to preform for smaller venues such as Corporate events, Weddings, Anniversary's, Birthdays, Outdoor & indoor parties, Benefits, Car shows, etc. As you might well imagine, we love to entertain and love meeting new people. Depending on your needs, we can sing without a sound system singing just like we sang on the street corners of New York or light up the stage with our top of the line sound system. We are not your average singing group or band. As you can tell from our bio and our sound, we are seasoned professionals and feature the unforgettable lead tenor of John Streich, one of the finest lead vocalists in acappella. We now, for the first time in thirty five years, have added, performing with a musical back ground to give an additional dimension to our show.
