I asked Ty to be the featured guest at my monthly singer's jam, because I'd seen her many times and loved her innate musicality, her stage savvy, and the way she swings like sixty. What I didn't know is that she's also a great master of ceremonies; that night was my birthday, and Ty led the festivities in a way that gives me confidence she can take charge of any room or event.

Ty's performance at the Singer's Spotlight was a real treat for all of us. She has a true jazz sensibility, a voice with great tone, and can swing with the best of them. I always enjoy her shows, because she is spontaneous and fun onstage, knows how to work a crowd, and brings true depth and musicality to her song interpretation. She is both moving and entertaining as a singer, and brings a unique vibe to any event.

As the co-organizer of a large Chicago music meetup group, I get a lot of emails & suggestions. One in particular caught my attention because it came from a renowned Jazz Band Leader. The message simply said- "you really need to see this" with an attached flyer event to see Ty Cooper. Well I did attend the Vespers Evening & WOW!!! Ty is high-energy, hilarious, yet has that rich smoothness we all look for in a classic Jazz Vocalist. I am a tad disappointed in the photos, because this lady is just adorable!
The first time I met Ty Cooper, it was on stage. I am a jazz vocalist and there was a call for all the ladies to come on stage and strut their stuff. Ty made her way and stood patiently....when she got the mic....MAN! Ty has a presence that goes beautifully with her unique phrasing and timbre. She later came to my jazz jam, and again wowed the audience with her magnetic stage persona. Ty brings her life experiences to every line of the songs she performs. She is a true professional and it is a joy to watch her work.
