Tyreese Pleasanton was a joy to work with my song performance.
Professional, capable, focused and cordial. Would definitely ask him again if need arises!
It has been a pleasure to work with Tyreese Pleasanton. Very professional, cordial, ask pertinent questions to have good understanding. If I am ever in New Orleans again, and need a flutist, I will call him. Great experience!
Response from Tyreese:
Thank-you so much for allowing me to perform with your group. I appreciate your response!
Tyreese was very professional, friendly, and talented. He performed for a private dinner for my parents anniversary and Tyreese helped make it a rememberable and very special for them. I would highly recommend him and hope I get the privilege to work with him again in the future.

Hello, my name is Mr. Tyreese Pleasanton. I am a passionate and dedicated music educator with a solid educational background. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance from Delaware State University in December 2015. During my time at DSU, I had the privilege of showcasing my musical abilities at the Honors Day Performance on April 16, 2015, and presenting my Senior Recital on April 26, 2015.
Before my time at DSU, I attended The University of Maryland Eastern Shore, where I actively participated in various musical ensembles, serving as a section leader, contributing to the wind ensemble, pep band, woodwind quintet, and jazz ensemble. Additionally, I had the opportunity to showcase my musical talents in a range of recitals.
In 2023, I graduated from Liberty University with a Master of Arts in Music Education: Music Studies. My research during this program focused on 'The Significance of Teaching Music to Urban African-American Underprivileged Students.' I believe in the transformative power of music education, particularly in reaching and positively impacting underserved communities.
Currently, I am pursuing my Doctor of Music Education at Liberty University, with an expected completion date in May 2025. Alongside my academic pursuits, I have been actively engaging in professional development, earning certification from the Louisiana State University STEM Pathways Program in July 2021 and achieving a Music Content Knowledge score of *151 on the Praxis II exam in August 2021. I am also in the process of completing the iTeachLouisiana program, further enhancing my teaching skills and strategies.
Currently, I am the Band Director at Northeast High School in Pride, LA, where I have been directing high school instrumental performances, including marching band, concert band, jazz band, soloists, and ensembles. In this role, I have established performance requirements, enforced academic standards, and ensured each student's eligibility for band participation. I have coordinated activities with special groups and facilitated band participation in various extracurricular events such as concerts, parades, and community gatherings. Additionally, I have prepared students for All-Parish and District auditions and competitions and maintained an accurate inventory of school-owned instruments.
Prior to my current role, I served as a Band Director in Beaumont Independent School District in Beaumont, TX, directing middle school instrumental performances. I specified performance standards, upheld academic requirements, and planned activities for unique groups. Similar to my current position, I facilitated band involvement in extracurricular activities and maintained an accurate inventory of school-owned equipment.
From 2018 to 2022, I was the Band Director at a middle school in the East Baton Rouge Parish School System. In this role, I directed instrumental performances, coordinated activities with special groups, and ensured the band's participation in various events. I also served as the Assistant Band Director at McKinley Senior High School, where I assisted in developing and implementing a program of instruction, creating a conducive learning environment, and developing an appropriate system for evaluation and grading of students.
I am confident that my dedication to fostering musical excellence, combined with my organizational skills and passion for student development, makes me an ideal candidate for the position of director of bands. I am eager to contribute to the vibrant music program at your school and continue making a positive impact on students' lives.
