Check us out on youtube.
We hire many bands at our resort for weddings, corporate meetings, etc. This band was the best I have seen. The group they played for was there for a professional meeting. Those groups can be slow to loosen up but this band had them hopping and laughing right away. Their overall presence is pretty friendly. They played to, and with, the crowd very well. Kind of like the acts do at a piano bar. The music is also extremely good and the singers were outstanding. I had to get my employees back to work serving and in the kitchen because they kept wanting to some out and listen to the band. Just a really nice group of people. We really appreciated that they cleaned up their stage and put all of their garbage away at the end of the night. I've never seen a band do that before.

Uncle Morty's Rhythm Cream is a high energy band that plays music designed to start the party and keep is rolling. Audiences will probably be struck by the quality of the vocalists. With four vocalists able to take leads, the band is able to match voices to each particular song instead of trying to cover material with simply the best, or only, voice available. The second thing audiences notice is the power of a big horn section as it blows across the room. The energy is immediate and infectious. There is simply nothing like having all of that coordinated vocal and sonic lines winding around the audience as they enjoy high energy hit after hit.
The band prides itself on being very professional and giving a great show. There are no divas in this band. The attitude is: "Clients are meant to be friends." Uncle Morty makes the audience part of the show. Guests frequently join the band on stage for a favorite song and the band has several audience participation numbers (line dances, sing-a-longs, "guest starring" on percussion instruments, etc.) that make sure that people get out of their seat and into the action. By the end of the evening the feeling in the room is like a big family room where everyone knows each other and shares in the performance.
Uncle Morty's is built for a party. Just plug 'em in and you'll be out of your chair in a minute. It's as simple as that.
Yeah the name is quirky, but if you get a chance to hear them, you'll remember them. And, not just because of the name. Ask yourself this: When was the last time that you saw a band up close and personal who boasted four great singers and a full horn section? Not just a sax player in the corner, but trumpets, trombones and saxophones blasting out powerful notes over the top of funky grooves and rich harmonies. If you think that's a lineup that you can only see with a national touring act, think again. You can have all of that right in front of your eyes and ears, creating a special event for your guests.
UMRC is not simply a Motown tribute band. Their song lists include hits from contemporary artists like Cee Lo Green, Rob Thomas, and Maroon Five along with classics from Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, and Aretha Franklin. Yet, within a minute of hearing the Creamers in action, audiences quickly identify with the strong, soulful, classically Motown lines provided by lead vocalist LeVar Thomas as they float over top of the textured, 4-part harmonies of Marcy Coleman, Deb Evans, and Joel Schrank (also on keys). The second thing that audiences realize is that UMRC boasts a full horn section (with Tim Ketterson and Doug Meyers on trumpet, Ken Booth and Robert Montgomery on sax, and Rachel Hoffman) in a lineup rarely seen in local venues and only common for large, international touring acts. Providing the platform for this musical menagerie is a thumping rhythm section that features Gar Evans on drums, Randy Hensley on guitar and Kevin Pizzuti on bass. The result is a sonic explosion that hits audiences like the Wall of Sound first orchestrated by Phil Specter in the early 60’s and almost never replicated in local venues.
UMRC's line-up boasts a strong pedigree. LeVar Thomas has been featured on singles from contemporary artists such as CATALYST and worked with producers such as DN8. In addition to composing new material in other projects, members of the band have performed with jazz artists such as Maynard Ferguson and Joe Negri, shared the stage with Top 40 acts such as Joan Jett and the Black Hearts, Kenny Rogers, and the Hooters. They have performed in legendary venues such as Eddie's Attic and the Fox Theater in Atlanta, and NYC's Village Underground and Club Groove. Musical influences include Marvin Gaye, Jason Mraz, Matchbox 20, and Stevie Wonder. UMRC is based in Gainesville, FL and has been gigging at clubs, parties and events since 2010.
So, Why Hire Morty?
Morty is a PARTY ANIMAL. Look at that set list. Morty will keep your party rollin’ all night long.
Morty is DIFFERENT. Classic rock is terrific. Morty loves it too. But classic and contemporary R&B/SOUL driven through eleven pieces, a full horn section – when was the last time you got to groove to all that?
Morty makes YOUR EVENT SPECIAL. Hit your guests with that full WALL OF SOUND that Morty brings and they’ll have a night to remember! Morty works with you (have a special song?) to put your signature on the night.
Morty has PROFESSIONAL SINGERS, not just the guy who can sing in tune the best. Four different voices give Morty lots of options for different material.
Morty carries a PROFESSIONAL PA. That’s important cause your guests are going to want to sing along with every word.
Morty is RELIABLE. You have enough things to worry about for your event. Morty makes sure that the music isn’t one of them. Morty shows up on time, takes only appropriate breaks, stays sober, and even cleans up after himself.
The band carries a professional PA suitable for most mid-size venues, ballrooms, clubs, etc.
