We hired Universal Sound to play jazz music for our award ceremony. We normally just utilize an DJ but since this was an elegant event we wanted it to have a glamorous effect. A friend of mine went out to see a jazz band at blu Jazz located here in Akron, OH and he and his wife absolutely loved their sound and chemistry! So when the phrase "Jazz Band" came up i immediately thought of them and booked them right away! It was last minute (less than a week's notice) but they assured me they would be able to do it. I dont know how, but they somehow lived up to the hype my friends were raving about. They were dressed nice and were highly professional, providing me with a detailed yet easy to read contract with there letterhead. The price was less than any live band I've ever hired and they cleaned up after themselves. I received many inquires about them and I will definitely use them again in the future.
This band is dope! I had them play for my HS Graduation party and everyone loved them! The guitar guy was killing it! My parents are booking them for their anniversary party which says a lot because when it comes to music we are usually on different sides lol.
Every year, I throw a white party and this year I wanted it to be special so I hired Universal Sound for my live entertainment. I told Jai that I was planning to propose to my girlfriend and I will signal him and the band when I was ready. The plan was for the band to play my girl's favorite song "Earned It' By the Weekend but what I got was so much more! The band was playing the hell out of that song and the crowd was all in! Then the band went into a big build up with the drums driving the beat and suddenly they made a big break and it was silent. This wasn't rehearsed but i took advantage of the opportunity and dropped down to one knee and asked if she would marry me??? SHE SAID YES!!!! And the band picked the song back up and the people was cheering and it was absolutely PERFECT! I still get goosebumps just thinking about it lol. Universal Sound thank you so much for making that night special and memorable for me and my soon to be wife.
I wanted a live band for my upcoming CD "Feels Like Love" but I was already approaching my budget cut off. My classmate told me about a band his friend Jai plays in. I only knew of one Jai that plays in a band but I thought to myself no way that could be the same person because he is like one of the top musicians in town but I decided to asked if this was the same Jai who helped the band One Sound become so popular? He said yes and I immediately asked for his info. Since he is an successful musician, I thought he would be arrogant and stuck up but i was wrong. Jai was super cool and laid back but very professional and you could tell he knew his stuff. He said he was all about helping upcoming musicians and offered his services at an reduced price. We are currently still recording but already, this is the best project I've ever done and I'm so excited and fortunate to have Universal Sound as my musicians. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
I was skeptical in using this website because I have never used it before and I was intimidated by all of the different bands to choose from. After growing tired of looking through the profiles of band after band trying to find someone who could provide a nice mixture of music for our 90's party instead of just one genre, I gave up. My son took over where I left off and shortly after he called me into his room and showed me this band. I read their carefully and professionally written profile and thought to myself that talk is cheap! I decided to reach out to them and was invited to a show they were doing that night. The gentleman on the phone said to "come out and tell the doorman Jai invited you". My husband and I agreed but nothing could have prepared us for what we were walking into. The place was packed and people were dancing, laughing and having a good time. The band was amazing! Very interactive and entertaining. We had only planed to stick around for a song or two but ended up staying all night. Jai thanked us for coming out and we hired him on the spot! I booked Universal Sound for my daughter's wedding. I was nervous at first because my daughter is a musician/singer and she is very picky with her music selection so i thought it would be best to just hire a DJ to play her favorite songs. My friend from work told me about a wedding they attended and the highlight of the night (outside of the bride & groom) was the incredible live band. He said he was so impressed that he is booking them for his next event. Long story short, I gave them a call and left a message and was surprise to receive a call from the studio's president Jai Latimore. He was so helpful and professional and I knew it was a good idea to hire them. The band came with an intro that was made just for my daughter and son-in-law and they did the first dance to a nice emotional rendition of "At Last" by Etta James that had everyone in tears. From there they continued to blow everyone away with the nice variety of songs and they were fun as well. I could go on forever but I just want to say thank you to Universal Sound and thank you to Gig Salad for making my not so little girl's day special.
