With over 33 years as a professional guitarist, my repertoire spans over 500 years of music in virtually every style ranging from modern music to classical music of the 1600s; this produces an incredible versatility and offers something for everyone. I can also adapt almost any piece of music to the guitar, including orchestral music. While my focus is solo or duo performances either purely instrumental or vocal-Instrumental, larger ensembles are also possible

As a solo guitarist: The highest level of musicality and guitar playing. Featuring fresh arrangements of songs/pieces with an incredible variety of styles that cover nearly 500 years of music.
As a vocal-guitar duo: Impeccable professionality. Songs ranging from the early 20th century to the present in classic rock, modern rock, R&B, jazz, country, and blues styles.
Dr. G began playing the guitar at the age of 12. His first guitar teacher was Mark Burkert from whom he studied until 14 when he began his studies with famed guitarist Jimmy Bruno. Throughout high school, he learned traditional music theory from Michael Stairs at The Haverford School.
A protégé of guitarist Jimmy Bruno and pianist Jimmy Amadie, Dr. G completed a PhD in Musicology and a Master's in Classical Guitar Performance with Jack Sanders from the Claremont Graduate University. In addition, he completed his Bachelor's in Jazz Guitar Performance from the University of the Arts.
He teaches beginner, intermediate, and advanced private students. Red Note Press publishes his seven books including The Guitarist's Guide series on Harmonizing Melodies, Sight Reading, and Music Theory Fundamentals. His first book about a famed jazz guitarist Billy Bean: The Life and Music of a Jazz Guitar Legend, has received worldwide acclaim.
A professional guitarist for over 30 years, he has performed over 1500 concerts across the United States and internationally. His performances range from solo guitar to duos and larger ensembles.
All music equipment is provided. All that is required is access to an electrical outlet.
For solo and duo performances in areas that do not offer electrical outlets, such as parks or beaches, battery-powered amplification is available for gatherings of up to 150 people.
Repertoire covers over 2500 songs from classical, jazz, blues, rock, pop, country, Latin, and Flamenco genres. An interactive list is featured on my website.
