I have nearly 20 years experience as a percussionist. I started in concert and classical band, moved onto to marching and rudimentary drums, and have ultimately landed on playing drumset. I have 3 years experience live gigging on drumset, and combined about 8 years of performance experience. I am a living metronome. If you need someone who can keep time, hold a solid backbeat, play some fun tunes and fun fills, I am the Viking Drummer for you.
This gentleman had to learn 45 songs in two days without ever meeting the band before the gig. He was on time (2 hours before showtime) and had notes written from recordings we sent him. He had a professional attitude and interacted great with the band members and audience.
Reliable and professional, that's what you'll get with the viking drummer for starters.. I was looking for a drummer to help with praise and worship for the
1st day of my wedding weekend and Dalton was the right person for the job. He has incredible communication. Once booked, he asked me what the song the group would be singing so he could start practicing them.. once we met in person for our first practice, he arrived on time with his drum set and was ready to rock even when the singers were late..he didn't complain and he did not give me pressure to be on a time constraint..he was very chill and relaxed with great energy..He followed instructions well in knowing when to reve up at different parts of a song and when to blend which is key in making sure the music sounds right..we wanted praise and worship...like maverick city and it was right up his allow..we really jelled with him even though we only had one practice before performing...and on the day of the performance, Dalton really brought his best!! It was such a great jam session with him, my pianist and bass guitar player. Sweating and all, it was such a great show. I would highly recommend the Viking Drummer to anyone looking for a drummer. You won't be dissappointed.

I currently provide drum set percussion. I have a 5 piece kit and a full range of cymbals. I primarily come from a marching and heavy metal background but have learned from a lot of classic artists on how to groove from Stevie Wonder's 'Superstition' to Bruno Mars' 'Treasure'. I have learned that there is a lot more to drum set than just playing fast and heavy, and have since found an appreciation for Jazz playing. I am a versatile drummer and can learn any groove and any pattern to find the best fit for the music.
From my concert percussion days I learned to respect the music first and foremost. It doesn't matter if I'm the best drummer in the world, if you can't play to respect the music then you have failed. I always spend time to listen to a song to find a groove and feel, and then adapt that to my personal style. Ultimately as a drummer I'm not there for recognition as much as it is providing the right musical environment for those listening.
My name is Dallen Shrader, the Viking Drummer. And yes, I do have Viking ancestry, I am related to Erik the Redd and married to a woman descendant from a Thor worshipping clan in Norway. I have been playing drums for over 20 years, and have been performing much of that time. I started as a concert percussionist and studied that for 10 years. After that I worked on marching percussion, specifically the marching snare drum. And now, most recently, I have been working on drum set playing. I have been playing drum set live for nearly 4 years at my local church, and am looking to expand and provide my talents to as many people as I can. I believe music is a universal language and can lead to some momentous occasions.
I currently live in Massachusetts and am looking to establish myself as a local name and local talent that many can call on and rely on to provide top quality percussion sounds.
I have a family of 3 beautiful children; William, Lorraine, and Adrienna; and a lovely wife, Elizabeth. Music runs in our blood. As I said, it the great universal language.
I am a very accommodating drummer. I am flexible in where I can sit, where I can play, and who I am around. I currently do not have microphones for my acoustic set but I do have an electronic set available if more fine tuned mixing is needed. I can adapt on the fly to whatever is happening, and can help find the best solutions for each situation as it arises.

Any heavy metal band, you name it and I enjoy it. I also learned from some older 90's groove artists like Stevie Wonder to get a more funk/soul sound to my playing.
Acoustic set microphones, and either in ear monitors or a floor monitor for sound mixing.
