Vocal Steel

Audiences have told us that they love hearing us performing because of our refreshing pop sound, and the ability for them to experience some favorite modern songs through our unique arrangements.

Vocal Steel formed with the intention of keeping contemporary a cappella alive in the Pittsburgh area in the postgrad scene. When the group began it's journey back in 2023, there were no current active contemporary a cappella groups outside of college or high school groups that were all actually based in Pittsburgh who could perform live, and Vocal Steel is proud to still be the only current contemporary a cappella group of that kind to this day!

Since the group's conception, we have had the privilege of putting on multiple our own self produced shows, as well as collaborate with other artists performing in the Pittsburgh area, including opening for the esteemed jazz-infused a cappella group, Accent.

The songs that we sing are typically well-known pop songs, but we also have some folk, rock, and jazz-y pieces included in our repertoire. Almost all of our music is arranged by our talented in-house arrangers, but we have also incorporated some outside arrangements from beloved and well-known a cappella groups as well.

Vocal Steel is a semi-professional group of 14 members who all have a variety of full-time careers outside of their singing career, and we love to be able to get together and share our musical talents in the way of performing. We can't wait to see where we will go next!

We are able to provide our own sound equipment if it is not available at the venue in question.
