Every Wade Frazier performance is different characterized by improvised guitar solos and exceptional musicianship. You will hear a variety of music unrivaled in solo performances. Because of my classical and jazz training, I include everything from Nat King Cole and Sinatra to Bon Jovi. You will hear jazz, pop, classic rock, current hits, and country.
Wade first performed live with a guitar teacher's band at the age of 14. Growing up on hair band metal, groups such as Night Ranger, AC/DC, REO Speedwagon, STYX, Poison, Sammy Hagar, Toto, Journey, Van Halen, Eagles, and Bon Jovi played a significant role in maintaining Wade’s interest in guitar. Early guitar influences included Brad Gillis, Angus Young, Gary Richrath, Al Di Meola, George Benson, Hiram Bullock, Don Felder, and Neal Schon. Fast forward to 1986, Wade entered Augustana College in Rock Island, IL on a music scholarship. He studied voice, classical guitar, jazz, and piano. In both high school and college Wade performed in jazz bands and rock bands and performed on national stages such as Carnegie Hall in New York City with the Augustana touring choir.
In adult life, Wade has remained musically active in many ways. Wade currently serves as a music director for a local church where he has served since 2014. He has been worship leader off and on for multiple churches since 1999, mostly filling temporary vacancies. Wade has a special interest in musical theatre and has sat in the pit orchestras for many musicals. Musicals have included Little Shop of Horrors, Adaams Family, Oklahoma, Love’s Labour Lost, Grease, Ticket Out of Loserville, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and most recently Matilda and Mama Mia with Theatre 121 at the Woodstock Opera House.
Wade also performs as a solo artist demonstrating his eclectic versatility. As a solo act, Wade covers a very wide palette of music. He covers many genres which includes a core set of pop and rock favorites, country favorites, and jazz standards. His sets include songs from ABBA, Nat King Cole, Bon Jovi, Luke Bryan, Glenn Campbell, Frank Sinatra, The Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molly, Journey, Billy Joel, Elton John, Tom Petty, Eagles, Shinedown, Def Leppard, Scorpions, Justin Bieber, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, and many, many others. In addition, Wade also performs with a local jazz group titled The StanDard Jazz Project, Jodie's House, and Bourbon Country.
I have my own sound equipment if necessary. My equipment includes a Behringer xair12 mixer and 2 powered JBL Eon 615 series 1000 watt speakers. I play mostly electric guitar but may also mix it up with acoustic electric.
