After an inquiry from a customer we love to do a quick chat over the phone to gain a few more details and to answer any questions they may have. Once we set a date with our clients, we either meet in person or send via email (depending on distance to client) our welcome packet.( For wedding photography, we always meet in person atleast once and walk the venue with the client a few months prior to the wedding day.) Our Welcome packet includes our questionnaire for our client to fill out that helps us to get to know them better and it gives them a chance to share what they envision for the shoot. We also include a contract which describes all of the details of the services being provided along with information on our policies. We also provide clients with a link to our Pinterest page which has tips on hair, makeup, and wardrobe. Upon request, we can offer professional makeup and hair from an artist that we love to work with, at an additional charge. Once the photography session or wedding is completed, I provide each client with a "what to expect" timeline from the day of the photoshoot/wedding up until the delivery of their final products.

Originally from the West Coast of Oregon and California, we've been blessed to call Colonial Williamsburg our home since 2013. We are lovers of history so it is more than a delight to walk the old streets of CW and visit the array of museums in Virginia. We serve clients from the East Coast (D.C. to parts of North Carolina) all the way to the West Coast. We are fond of adventure and are available to fly to any destination wedding around the globe.

We started White Black Photography in 2015, after Joel finished his degree in cinematography. Driven by my lifelong passion for capturing life on film, (Leah studied photography in high school and in some college classes) we decided to make our dreams real. Being married 17 years and counting has great advantages as we know each other's thoughts and movements, making working together at a wedding a very smooth and enjoyable experience. We actually like to call it a date! It has all the ingredients for a perfect date…dressing up in nice clothes, doing something we love to do together, witnessing a sweet new love story, all while getting to spend the entire day by each other's side.

Sometimes you really get what you pay for. Be sure you really take a good look at the photographer's work and make sure you love it. After all, you are making a good size investment. Sometimes it's worth it to pay a little more to have a peace of mind that the finished product is something you'll love.
