Winston!!! One of the best comedians that I came across. I was so pleased with his performance and professionalism! Practically everyone at the party was in tears laughing so hard! I could tell that people were skeptical of a "Caucasian Man" performing in a room full of "Black People" lol, but he did not disappoint!! He set the tone for the rest of the night! The party was epic from that point on! Winston definitely knows how to work a room and he did it with ease. As a Event Producer (specifically Comedy Show Producer), Winston is easily one of my first stops to check availability and interest in doing a show for me. I've hired him for several shows over the years and the experience has always been top-notch. He's always on time, professional, and communicative. His performances have been nothing short of belly-aching, tear-producing laughter.

Winston's written material is extremely clever and well-thought out. WINSTON'S CROWD WORK IS SECOND TO NONE!! He is a Master of masters when it comes to crowd work and 'in-the-moment' commentary. He has an uncanny ability to incorporate his on-the-spot observations and crowd dialogue into pre-written material... to the point where you can't tell what was written. Winston has a very organic delivery.

Recently, I hired Winston -- for the second time -- to perform at my Church (Christian Faith), where he had to give a clean, family-friendly set. Winston's performance left the crowd rolling on the floor in laughter with aching bellies. 90% or his set was crowd work; playful banter, relatable commentary. But he started off with a banger callback from the Comic before him and kept the momentum up for the entirety of the show. Guests from the show who gave me feedback all said they would love to see Winston again.

We keep bringing Winston back because he's hilarious and he's a pro. He respects our clean comedy brand and is an audience favorite! We enjoy working with him because he's a talented, fun, prepared and dependable comic who responds to communication in a timely and professional manner. In fact, he'll be here again this week for another show and we can't wait!

Reliable, hard working, quick witted and a pleasure to work with. If you're a talent buyer on the East Coast, Winston Hodges is definitely a prime find.

Versatility is one of the most valuable traits a comedian can have for a producer, and I really can’t think of too many comedians who are more versatile than Winston. I’d feel great having him host a show, go first on the lineup, or close it out. No matter where he goes, your show will be better for it.

As producers, we all sometimes have that comedian that we book for various reasons, who may or may not be all that funny. How they do will be a question mark. Winston is amazing to have follow that person, because he will bring the show right back up to where it needs to be.

I’ve also seen him do 30 plus minutes rather effortlessly, and crush the entire time. You can book him to headline/close out a show and not have to worry one bit.

His crowd work is probably the best in the DMV area. It’s personable, fun, hilarious, but not mean. He makes everyone feel good and like they are welcome. Really engages the audience.

His material is concise, well thought out, and hilarious. He can be as clean as you need him to be, but his non-clean material is edgy and just out right funny. I’ve seen him crush with all types of jokes with all different demographics, during the same show.

He’s also downright selfless. He has a keen sense of what the show needs, and then goes out and delivers that. He treats every show he’s on as if he was the one producing it. As a producer, having someone like that is truly invaluable. I cannot recommend Winston enough.

And for the record, this type of glowing review, lets just say I wouldn’t right it about anyone. I truly mean every word I said. Ive booked him multiple times over the years, and felt great about it afterwards every time.

Winston was on one of my Quarantine Comedy shows. He has a great stage presence and a very natural flow. His comedy feels like it just rolls out of his head and onto his lips but is polished and smooth. His material is personal and hilarious. The first time I saw him, I felt he had been doing this for a long time. I expect to see more of Winston in the future.

Winston performed at a comedy event at our small bar in Lovingston, Va as the headliner. This dude knocked it out of the park. Absolutely hysterical. His set was perfectly timed and kept the audience engaged the entire time. Lots of interaction with the crowd, and they loved it!! Our patrons were talking about 'that hilarious comedian' for months after his performance. 10/10, would absolutely book again and it would most definitely draw a great crowd.

I booked Winston for an online show. He was fantastic. Very friendly and funny. He has some smart jokes that I love. And damn! does he have a work ethic. If he's not on a stage, then he's on a Zoom mic. Seriously, this man has what it takes to be a big name. Keep an eye on him.

Winston has performed at my club numerous times and always does an outstanding show, whether for a packed room or a sparse crowd. He's always working on new material and never does the same show twice. Some shows he doesn't even need to get into what he has written, he can play to the crowd the whole time and keep them howling. He's super quick and always finds a way to get the best out of his audience. I highly recommend booking Winston for any kind of gig available, as I've seen him win over crowds young and old.

As one of the comedians that regularly kills when performing at our "Comedy at Buskey" showcase events, Winston Hodges was an obvious choice to headline our New Year's Eve party to welcome in 2020. Many of the guests that night had never been to one of our comedy events, but after Winstons performance, a lot of new faces started showing up to our monthly showcase. Friendly and approachable, he always makes the crowd feel like they are included in making the show more fun. At our NYE party, his crowd work alone was enough to make everyone in the place laugh so much, that people came up to me after the show to tell me how great he was and that they hoped we did the NYE show with comedy from now on. His 30 minute set wove together killer crowd work and well crafted jokes to make the overall experience an outstanding one.

I had heard about Winston long before I had the opportunity to see him perform. I worked with Winston once and it was great. His fans were right. He came and worked a comedy marathon to benefit the Virginia Beach Municipal shooting fund that I had put together. He brought a strong, smart & very funny set. His writing and delivery worked great on a crowed that could come and go during the event. Once Winston got on stage, the entire room payed attention. He had them...... He did a strong set. He set the bar very high for his portion of the show leaving an energetic and thrilled audience. I look forward to the opportunity to booking Winston at future events.

My burlesque troupe, Burlesque Right Meow, hired Winston to do a stand up set for a burlesque and variety show. He was incredibly polite and respectful backstage, which is so important to us since we hire burlesque dancers as well. Winston’s comedy was hilarious and had the crowd rolling. He kept the audience completely engaged, which can be difficult for stand up comedians in our shows. Not only that, but his humor did not rely on any bigotry. We look forward to when we can hire him again.

Winston basically IS the comedy scene in Charlottesville. I’ve attended several of his events, where he has been either the host, a performer, or both. He does a great job riding the perfect line of funny and raunchy, which appeals to any crowd I’ve been in. I would not hesitate to recommend Winston - he is great at what he does.
