Wolfpit Productions founder, Mark Doran, has over 25 years experience as a live sound engineer, systems tech and production manager. Mark began playing music at the age of six and continued through high school where he began to learn the basics of audio engineering as his and local bands needed someone to mix.
After high school and a couple more years attending Memphis State and working in the Memphis music scene Mark migrated to western NC and attended studio engineering school at UNC Charlotte.
By then Western NC had become home and Mark settled into a house engineering position at longstanding popular blues club, Ten Years After. Over the next 15 years he mixed FOH and monitors for hundreds of regional and national acts, as well as operating a mobile recording studio, recording and producing a NPR live blues show, working production at many local festivals, including Merlefest, and as a founder and technical director for the non profit group Acoustic stage. And, in his spare time Mark was doing residential and commercial installs, as well as playing in local house bands.
From (phone number hidden)1 Mark was production manager for a large regional sound company, where his duties included not only overseeing day to day production planning and logistics, but mixing FOH and monitors for ​many regional and national acts and multiple festivals throughout the eastern USA.
Many years of production experience has culminated into the idea of a "superstar" production team that could better serve the needs of clients and artists. This idea has led to Wolfpit Productions partnering with a diverse group of professional's, each offering their expertise and resources to make the end result the best it can be. So, whether you are planning a small intimate event with one singer/songwriter or a 3 day festival featuring multiple national artists, we are equipped and ready to help you not only make it happen, but make it the best it can be.
