So, why team building? What makes me qualified to help you make your event more successful? Great question. My answer would go something like this…
I’m on the phone every day with Meeting Planners who work with a wide variety of organizations. I listen to the frustrations of working with larger committees, lack of clear takeaways and shrinking budgets. I hear how much in need your teams are of escaping their technology induced silos and reconnecting via face time with their colleagues. I understand that doing more with less is the norm, and this situation leads to more burnout and increased feelings of isolation in our workforces. With my background in sociology, event planning and the music industry…This is a unique opportunity to combine these passions into a program which allows us, working together, to enhance your overall team experience. Songwriting as team-building, is a mission for me. I believe with all my might… that team building should not be an ancillary function of conferences and meetings. Statistics show, that organizations too often “miss the bead” on assembling and retaining the right team. By not properly engaging their employees and figuring out ways to maximize the strengths of each individual hire, companies and organizations are costing themselves dearly whenever they have to re-hire and retrain.
* Team building increases productivity
* Team building improves efficiency
* Team building enhances employee retention rates
* Team building grows profitability
The notes in a chord of music, are one and the same as the members of your team. They either complement each other…or they detract from the “sound.” We’ll brainstorm on how to make your teams more successful and happier, and then we’ll write a song together about this crucial topic. We’ll collaborate on this song just like they do in Nashville..and as they once did in Tin Pan Alley. Depending upon the size and needs of your group…we may decide to bring in one of my co-facilitators. These are Award-Winning Hit Songwriters who have had songs recorded by the likes of Shania Twain…Collin Raye…Laura Branigan…Josh Groban..Melissa Manchester and Patty Loveless. We will customize “our team” to make sure that your event is the ultimate success.

Depending upon the size of your group..Jeff may bring in one or more of his “hit-songwriting” friends to co-facilitate your session. These Award-Winning writers have had their songs recorded by artists such as Josh Groban..Collin Raye…Anne Murray…Laura Branigan…Patty Loveless..Melissa Manchester and Shania Twain. From the early days of Popular music, songwriting has often been a collaborative effort between two or more writers. In this organizational team building session we will discuss how the notes in a chord of music are absolutely the exact same thing as members of a team! To enhance how productive and happy your office team is we will focus on:
• Achieving a state of Constant Empathy (finding a trigger mechanism)
• Striving to actively practice collaboration
• Creating a culture of listening
• Fostering creativity and creative problem solving
• Learning to find one’s voice as part of a team
Two-thirds of this presentation is highly interactive. We will literally “build” a customized song that focuses on your team, field or industry through our exercises. At the end of the day, your attendees will walk away with a greater understanding of what’s needed to have more success and more fun in the workplace as key members of the total synergy….which should be your team. If you love playing with Play-Doh, enjoy music and problem-solving…you’ll love this workshop.
