X Nation is L.A.'s best tribute to the Grunge era and the rock and alternative music of the 90's. Yes, we play plenty of tunes that came out of Seattle, but good music was everywhere during that decade, including our hometown of L.A.
X Nation is a bow to our brothers and sisters born after 1965, Generation X, who came of age in the 80's and 90's. Join us on a musical time trip when youthful rebellion reawakened to the political and cultural realities of the decade.
You'll hear Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Tool, Nirvana, Jane's Addiction, RHCP, Pearl Jam, STP, Metallica, and more.
We are available for parties, events, and venues throughout Southern California and will travel.
I booked X Nation for Burbstock, a mini-festival I put on each year. The band was really tight, and the lead singer had impressive range and stage presence. I got lots of positive feedback from attendees who grew up in the 90s and thought these guys nailed that sound. Definitely recommend them!
Price Range: $500 - $2,000
Gig Length: 60 - 240 minutes
Languages: English, Spanish
Take a time trip to that magical era when when rock music simultaneously changed and went back to its roots. We intersperse our set with clips from TV shows, movies, newcasts, and radio that bring audiences back to time when our cultural eyes reopened after the decadence of the 80's and before everything was online. X Nation plays the songs that you almost forgot you loved so much.
These were the last years before Pro Tools sanitized rock music. The human grit of guitars, bass, and drums was still in us, and there was no hiding behind the gloss that has characterized much of today's music.
X Nation will pummel the audience with the big 4 Pacific Northwest bands: Nirvana, Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, and Pearl Jam. We'll expand into the great L.A. artists like Tool, White Zombie, Jane's Addiction, Sublime, Rage Against the Machine, and Red Hot Chili Peppers. Metallica's Black and Loaded albums will keep things heavy, and we'll make sure we hit plenty of tunes from the Foo Fighters, Green Day, Offspring, Stone Temple Pilots, and many others.
X-Nation is a tribute to the music of the 90's that didn't suck. Sure, we're playing plenty of the stuff that came out of Seattle, but good music came from everywhere during that decade - including our hometown of L.A.
The name X-Nation is a bow to our brothers and sisters born after 1965, Generation X, who came of age in the 80's and 90's. Tired and disillusioned by the excesses of the 80's, this music represents both our youth and our transition from innocence to the real world.
Join us as we cover the better music of the 90's. There won't be any Backstreet Boys or Spice Girls. You'll hear Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Tool, Foo Fighters, Jane's Addiction, Screaming Trees, Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam, STP and even Metallica. Over time, expect us to dive into the more obscure when we can get away with it.
X-Nation is lead vocalist, Jaime Miranda, who manages to capture the voices of Layne Staley, Chris Cornell, James Hetfield, Eddie Vedder, Curt Cobain, Zack de la Rocha, and countless others. Nate Myer brings vocal harmony to X-Nation along with his guitar work, and the is rounded out by Rich Abronson on lead guitar, Jeff Page on drums, and Phil Romo on bass.
X Nation owns some lighting and PA equipment, however, we should discuss the physical space if your gig requires greater staging, lighting or sound support.
