Yellow Velvet

We heard Yellow Velvet at City State Brewery. They were fabulous! Everybody loved it when the sax player started the conga line. All of the band members were great! I would love to hire them for an upcoming event.

Couldn't have said it better. I was at the DC Bike Party pre-Halloween event that one of the videos here shows, and they rocked the house (brewpub). We hired them for a community event and their performance far exceeded our expectations! We’re bad at choosing set lists but yellow velvet laid out some great options for us to see what would work for our event best. They handled their own setup and takedown which was awesome. We’ve had a good amount of groups play for our events but I’m happy to say that yellow velvet set a high bar. They were communicative, fun, and most of all talented!

I experienced a Yellow Velvet gig around Halloween, and wow, they were fantastic!

What really struck me was how down-to-earth and warm they were. No big egos or anything, just upbeat, good vibes and tunes that make you want to move. We had a pretty diverse crowd, and everyone was into it. They were willing to work with us to create a setlist, and we ended up with a mix of originals and covers with a cool, laid-back vibe, drawing from all sorts of styles. They've got a little something for everyone!

Plus, they handled all the audio, setup, and lighting, which was a huge relief. And talk about easy to work with – they were super communicative and responsive. I love that they were all about making our event special, including dressing up in costumes to match the Halloween theme of the event!

So if you're looking for a band that brings a mix of genres, a commitment to facilitating a warm and comfortable environment, plus a bunch of genuinely nice people who know how to light up an event, Yellow Velvet is your go-to. Highly recommend!
