I was looking for a saxophonist to play several ecclesiastical songs for a virtual church service. I found Yuressa Shonta on GigSalad, read her profile, and decided to contact her. I communicated with Yuressa via phone and email which helped me make the final decision to book her. After discussing my wants, we both decided that she would be able to fulfill the request. I booked her through GigSalad, and we continue to communicate up until the date of the event.
We met at the designated place and at first sight she was very personable, even behind the mask. She came with all her equipment/sax ready to go to work. We revisited my request, and she explained the process. She even suggested the best way to record the session. I was informed that each song would be played until I was totally satisfied with the recording. “Amazing Grace” was the first selection, she put a contemporary jazzy sound to a song most people feel is old and outdated. I was happy about the first recording, but she performed it a second time because of her desire for perfection. The last 2 songs were equally inspiring, they were performed in the same professionalism and enthusiasm, as the first one.
