Overview
Latin-influenced jazz guitarist. A mixture of relaxed feeling and upbeat music. I play a wide range of music from jazz, classical, Brazilian, Mexican, flamenco, funk, RnB, fusion, rock, etc. My 7string Brazilian guitar works great for solo guitar, also I regularly play duo gigs with a bassist, singer, pianist, and saxophonist, violinist, and flutist. I also play jazz guitar trio as well. Please check videos, and audio and let me know if you are interested in having me for your event.

Our entire experience with Yuto surpassed our expectations. Being a musician myself of many years, I wanted to hire the right kind of talent for my Father's 70th birthday party. Yuto and Yuto went out of their way to learn some rather intricate songs that I requested. They absolutely nailed it!

Yuto provided the perfect entertainment for an intimate evening celebration. We asked for Latin jazz and made some specific artist and song requests and Yuto played them all beautifully. He is a talented musician but never overpowered the conversation.

The New York Cosmopolitan Lions Club hired Yuto as solo guitarist for background music during our cocktail hour. I am the President of the Lions Club and Yuto also accompanied me when I sang America the Beautiful. During our Entertainment Hour Yuto accompanied a Tap Dancer for many selections.
Yuto Kanazawais a very reliable, professional and accomplished musician. He kindly took the time to assist a student performer who was having problems setting up the sound system for her performances. Yuto is dependable, curteous, professional and arrived in a timely fashion. I highly recommend him he is a great jzaa guitarist.

We had Yuto at our event on 1/16/2015.
He was early and looked cool and well dressed and played such beautiful relaxing guitar music.
He can play all the singers and standards but excels in being unique in the fact that he can play music from today on his guitar and you are aware of the songs but not really, it's subtle and that's what makes him so great!
I particularly remember him playing Umbrella by Beyonce and it blew my mind.

About
Yuto Kanazawa is a guitarist and composer originally born in Tokyo Japan. While his projects maintain the huge influence from Jazz, Yuto has been busily performing wide range of music from Funk, Pop, Rock, Brazilian, Spanish, Japanese, Latin and Avant Garde in NY.
After Yuto's family moving to Fukushima, he started playing guitar when he was 14 years old and he was performing with local rock bands throughout high school years. Yuto attended Koyo Conservatory Kobe and started playing jazz gigs. He moved to US in 2007 and later he graduated from Berklee College of Music.
In 2013, he released first album Earthwards featuring Kurt Elling from Interrobang Records and moved to NY. Yuto was a winner in jazz category of International Songwriting Competition that year, also he formed The United East Jazz Quintet (UEJQ) with Korean and Japanese musicians and toured both countries. UEJQ released album in 2014 and toured again. In 2015, Yuto formed another project in Japan called itellu and released album featuring a singer Ai Ichikawa. Yuto toured Japan three times that year while living in NY. He also started performing regularly with his band at renowned jazz club Bar Next Door in NYC.
In 2016, he started playing with jazz pianist Kuni Mikami, a former member of Lionel Hampton. Yuto performed at Teatro Ocampo in Cuernavaca Mexico and Guatemala Jazz Festival with Kuni Mikami trio also taught seminars. In NY, Yuto worked with a Japanese singer Miyoko Sparrow and formed Song Sparrow performing Japanese folk songs in experimental jazz format. Yuto also started playing Brazilian 7string guitar and performed with Brazilian music singer Hiromi Suda at Bluenote NY with Petros Klampanis, Julian Shore and Rogério Boccato.
In 2017, Yuto produced duo album Utopia working with Yuto Mitomi and toured Japan featuring a bassist Zach Westfall and a drummer Hironori Suzuki. Also he was playing with funk band Days of Wild every Thursday after midnight at Red Lion in Greenwich Village, and performed with Gregg Errico and Jerry Martini from Sly and Family Stone at BB King Blues Club. In May 2017, Days of Wild performed with Randy Jackson from Zebra at Montauk Music Festival. Yuto also started working regularly with many jazz singers including Rina Komai, Yuto joined her album played with Lonnie Plaxico and Lafayette Harris.

I can bring my own equipments to do small-medium size place. Usually I just need an outlet for amp but I can bring battery amp for outdoor performance as well. Please let me know if you have any questions.
