The audience can be assured of a professional band in every way! We start on time, pay careful attention to stage volume and are dressed appropriately for the occasion. We are approachable and listen to special requests, musically or otherwise.
Taska & The Party Band have been playing music together in Washington and Oregon since 2010 at a variety of dances and special events. They specialize in Ball Room (Swing and Latin), Golden Oldies (50's-60's) and 70's-80's), Classic Rock and Disco and Vintage to 90's Country music. This variety makes the the band especially capable of entertaining all-age events such as receptions, birthdays and anniversaries, fairs and festivals. Additionally, they perform cabaret shows and can tailor-make a special show for a corporate themed-event.
Each member of this band brings decades of performing experience to the group. They all play a variety of instruments, but for the information needed here, it goes as follows:
Taska Barlow has performed on Norwegian Cruise Lines, and from Canada to Texas, the MGM Grand in Nevada to the Nashville Palace in Tennessee. She sings lead and harmony and plays bass in the band.
Clifford Smith plays drums and harmonica, sings lead and harmony. He has performed on cruise ships and played recording sessions from New York City to San Francisco, specializing in Jazz, Blues, Pop and R & R.
He has performed with and traveled with many top stars on the road and in Nevada.
Albert Pomar, lead, harmony and lead guitarist, has traveled the world playing all styles from Ballroom to Blues, Pop, Soul, Disco, R & R and ethnic music. He is regarded by the music community here in Portland as one of the most- applauded guitarists in the Pacific NW.
"Big" Dave Mercereau, sings lead, harmony, plays keyboards and absolutely amazes audiences wherever he plays. He has a 38 year history in the Portland, OR area as a rock solid performer in all styles of music.
This is a lively, well-groomed, energetic bunch of performers, ready to tailor the music for your event and exceed your expectations! Remember, "we don't just bring the music, WE BRING THE PARTY!"
We travel self-contained, including a Bose PA and Yamaha Digital mixing board.
We use stage lighting, overheads and backlighting.
Sound is important to us.
Taska's monitor has to have all the vocals in it.
The drummer likes a monitor with all the vocals in it.
Alberts' monitor has to have all vocals in it.
Dave likes his monitor with vocals on top.
...each singer requests that their monitor has a little more presence than the other voices for volume.
