4Play Band

We play 35 nights a year -street dances and bars are our primary sectors, though we are booking several "fireman" benefit shows at Legion Halls lately. We see several different audiences a year, so we never play the same sets. We have the lyrics to around 800 songs and have probably played or attempted at least half of them live. We love to keep the audience on their toes, as well as our traveling fans. You'll tap your toe to Johnny Cash, and then you'll find yourself singing along to Lady Gaga before you're whisked to the dance floor for a slow George Strait song and barely have time to catch your breath before you're back to dancing to Petty or Green Day or Florida Georgia Line. A typical night is us starting a little slower with a little older touch for the "older" folks that are leaving early after dinner. But we immediately start teasing with some current music to make sure the "late crowd" knows it's only a matter of time before things get exciting.

We're a cover "party" band with a fresher song library. We don't play obscure songs for ourselves, we try to create a new set list each night to surprise our regulars and keep everyone in the audience guessing. We use a larger system for street dances during the summer and then smaller setup (electronic drums) for the smaller scene -parties/bars/etc.. We play a mix of Rock/Country/Pop -we mix in brand new music on the radio with older classics and respond to the crowd. We'll try almost any request, especially the later the night goes - we have over 800 song lyrics electronically available on stage and 3 singers. Levi Drew plays lead electric guitar and sings. Chad McDermott plays keyboard and acoustic guitar and harmonica and sings. Clete Determan plays bass and sings. Scott Soyer plays persussion and can be heard singing without a mic if you listen closely! We've had 4Play for 4 years now -playing 30-35 gigs a year on average. Chad/Clete were together with Salamagundi ( a cover and original music band) before joining 100Proof and gaining Levi and then creating our own sound and direction with 4Play, with Scott Soyer joining in 2015 with his pop/jazz/funk influence.
