Spurred on by my own experience of what I thought was going to be a romantic elopement (and it was not!!!) I give the my couples the wedding they've always wanted. :)
I also perform Baby Blessings and Life Celebrations.
Marie Tyler Wiley is the best officiant and wedding planner you could ever ask for! I highly recommend her to anyone getting married in Connecticut.
As an officiant, Marie is knowledgeable, organized, and creative. Our wedding ceremony ran smoothly and we felt completely comfortable on our wedding day because of her wealth of experience. She also performed a beautiful wedding ceremony, called “Wedding by the Sea”, which complimented our venue and theme perfectly (our ceremony was held outdoors, alongside the Mystic River, and we selected a nautical theme). Marie is also personable, caring, and incredibly funny – her personality and humor could light up a room! My husband and I both agree she made our wedding ceremony more memorable because she simply is the type of person you could meet once and never forget.
Marie is a great wedding planner because she knows everyone in town, and everyone loves her because she has the biggest heart! I planned my ceremony while living in another state (Atlanta, Georgia), but I never worried about selecting vendors because Marie knows all the best talent in town. She was also very diligent about keeping us on track with our wedding budget, and maintained a perfect balance between making choices which were economical without sacrificing quality. Marie really went above and beyond to make sure my husband and I felt comfortable during the planning process, and enjoyed our overall wedding experience. When I was living in Atlanta, I didn’t have close friends or family nearby to help me shop for a wedding dress (we had recently moved from Virginia), so Marie arranged for one of her good friends who lived in the area to help me find a dress. Additionally, the day before my husband and I got married, Marie even met with us to go swimming so we could relax and de-stress before we tied the knot. My husband and I really appreciated Marie because we were able to go through the wedding planning process knowing we were in good hands.

When it comes to Love I am highly motivated to make sure every couple’s wedding day dreams come true: From start to finish!!! In fact, I make it my mission. It isn’t just enough that I perform the ceremony…I actually really do care that their entire day goes off without a hitch. And well…if a hitch comes along…you can bet that I’m going to do what it takes to get things back on track making sure their mind set is where it belongs…HAPPILY ON THE PRIZE…with each other!!!! From the caterers, to the photographers…I keep my eyes on things.
If you have any questions, please, always feel free to ask away. Whether you want me as your event coordinate or just your officiant...you can bet you'll be getting the best. :)
My motto says it all: IT’S ALL ABOUT YOU!!!
Have a sparkling day!!!

Marie’s Life Story in a Nutshell:
I thought it would be nice for you to be able to get somewhat of an idea of what I’m all about. I was born and raised in CT. I am one of 10 children, number 6 to be exact! When you grow up in a household that big…you kind of end up being, well, to the rest of the world,…identified as a mere number. All said in humor of course!
Most of my adult life I’ve been involved with the public in one way or another; most of it having to do with politics and/or the environment. I was Vice President of C.A.S.E. (Citizens for a Sound Environment). My dear departed friends Jay Becker, Ted Rice and I spent a great deal of time courting Congress & Senators down in D.C. as well as our local Rep’s and Governors. I am one of those people who commits themselves 110%. I say what I mean and I mean what I say. As a result, I was lucky enough to present testimony before the U.S. Congress way back when, meet all sort of impressive people and learn a little bit more about myself in the process!
After CASE, I got involved with a number of different initiatives. Public Relations is my forte’. If I believe in something I’ll go to the ends of the earth to make it happen. So I decided to be come a wedding officiant…why not have some fun and marry people!!! It’s so much more rewarding!!! And there are no hassles. It’s a win/win!! So I became a Justice of the Peace as I find it easier and much more fun to be involved with happy events.
Besides, I was married by a total yahoo of a JP who spent all of 15 seconds performing the ceremony. Bottom line…I’ll tell you the story if you ask…it’s laughable at this point. You know how they say parents live vicariously through their children in sports etc??? I live vicariously through my couples.
And about the things I love in life? My family, friends, the fine arts, music and the great outdoors…mostly traveling and sailing, of which sailing takes the cake (no pun intended) because that gives me the best of both worlds…family and friends!!!
