My repertoire ranges from Classical to Pop - Bach, Beatles, Spanish music, Bossa Nova, Jazz standards. I record for the Centaur CD label. I've played concerts all over the U.S. and Europe, and have three decades experience playing major events in New York City: steady engagements at Windows On The World, The Palm Court at The Plaza Hotel, The Mark Hotel, and The InterContinental/The Barclay. I've appeared at the White House, twice, 1997 and 1999, and The Metropolitan Museum of Art for many years. I'm also an author: "Waking the Spirit: A Musician's Journey Healing Body, Mind, and Soul" (Macmillan:Picador, 2016).
Can't thank you enough for the beautiful musicianship and great personality you bring to your performance, helping to make the evening a great success!
Response from Andrew Schulman:
Thank you, Fred and Lawrence. Your events are always a joy to play for!!
Andrew
Besides playing beautifully, Andrew is a warm and engaging person who is a joy to be around. Thanks so much for helping to make our event a success!
Thank you Andrew for being such an incredible addition to our celebration and bringing it to life with your musical gift! Helping us do a singalong for our guest of honor was the icing on the cake.
Response from Andrew Schulman:
Monique, it was a great party from beginning to end! Clearly Michele is much loved by all her friends and family and that was a great idea you had, for me to play the accompaniment to the Beatles "Michelle" with everyone having the lyrics already printed out by you. Thank you so much for thinking of me and this review!
Andrew responded promptly to a late-in-the-day request for a classical guitarist and provided wonderful background classical guitar for our cocktail hour pre-wedding. Our guests thought he was terrific!
Response from Andrew Schulman:
What a great day - a love wedding at the Boathouse in Central Park in New York, perfect weather on a patio in late September before the leaves have started to turn, the guests were a real music loving group of people , and a lovely wedding couple.
The guitarist rates it a five-star wedding!!!
My husband and I had the pleasure of featuring a concert by Andrew Schulman at our home for our 40th wedding anniversary party. We are so happy we chose him. Our guests were delighted with his diverse repertoire, his virtuosity, and his informative leads in to the pieces. Not only is his music wonderful to experience, but he also is a mature man with a sense of humor and humility who knows how to make all feel welcome. He was punctual and had good, timely communication with us prior to the event. Don't hesitate to engage him for a concert in your home. We were also pleased with our entire experience with this booking site, too.
Response from Andrew Schulman:
Thank you so much! It was a perfect afternoon - let's do it again for your 50th wedding anniversary!!
Warm regards, Andrew
Andrew came to play at my mother's birthday party. He was wonderfully entertaining and played beautifully for the entire time. It really added to the event and everyone loved him.
Response from Andrew Schulman:
It was a wonderful party, Josephine. What a pleasure to be the music for a large family gathering where the love was everywhere!
We hired Andrew to play at a reception in honor of an important family event. He arrived early, was utterly charming, and played beautifully. His playing provided the perfect soundtrack for an evening of memories.
Response from Andrew Schulman:
Thank you so much, Maggie. It was a pleasure meeting you and being a part of the celebration at the Lotos Club. I wish you and Kerry all good things!
Very professional and highly recommended musician. It was a perfect match for my fortieth birthday. Good touch, range and personality.
Response from Andrew Schulman:
Many thanks. It was a great party - wonderful hosts with friends to match! Andrew
Andrew's talent shined through the hours of our event like a soundtrack for our life. Perfect music for a perfect day. Andrew was great to talk to and easy to work with.
Response from Andrew Schulman:
Hi Paul, Thanks so much! When I got home I told my wife that your party was an example of the perfect event. Great host, very enjoyable conversations arranging the repertoire before the party date, wonderful guests to play for, people who let you know how much they enjoy the music, and kudos also to the staff at Hudson Terrace. It's a stressful world we live in, when something thoroughly good happens it's a special pleasure. - Andrew
Andrew Schulman played at my girlfriends birthday party recently and added an exquisite touch. Andrew played Bach, Beatles and James Taylor with his usual consummate grace. His preparation and follow ups were professionally carried out. Andrew was one of the main reasons the party was such a success Thank you Andrew
Response from Andrew Schulman:
Thank you Harvey, it was absolutely a pleasure playing for you and Amy and your guests!

I play a wide ranging repertoire that delights the ear. I've been a professional musician in New York City since 1975, playing at many of the best know venues in the NY for a very demanding audience and I know how to present myself in a way that is worry free for the client and makes for a great event for the audience. I love my work.
Andrew Schulman is a guitar soloist and the founder and music director of the Abaca String Band, a string quintet. As a soloist he has appeared throughout the United States and Europe in venues ranging from Carnegie Recital Hall and The Improv in New York City to the Royal Albert Hall in London. He has had steady engagements in landmark New York City venues including Windows On The World, The Palm Court at The Plaza Hotel, The Mark Hotel, and the InterContinental/The Barclay.

The Abaca String Band appeared on the Carnegie Hall Neighborhood Concert Series from (phone number hidden)5 and in concert in 37 states throughout the U.S.
After his life was saved at Beth Israel Medical Center in July 2009 he became the resident musician in the Surgical ICU, which he continues to do. WNBC’s news story "A Gift of Healing" won a 2011 NY Emmy award and 1st Prize in the National Press Photographers Association "Best in PhotoJournalism" competition.
He has written a book, "Waking the Spirit: A Musicians Journey Healing Body, Mind, and Soul" (Macmillan:Picador, 2016). A film by Academy Award nominated director Josh Aronson, "Andrew & Wendy", has been aired multiple times on PBS-TV.
Mr. Schulman has recorded two solo CDs for the Centaur label, "The Baroque Style", and "Lullabies, Reveilles, (and Siesta!)", and his original music and arrangements are published by Berben Edizioni Musicali of Italy.
What I do is easy to arrange for. I bring my own sound equipment, a small but powerful Acoustic Image amplifier that can give just the right boost for a small party or fill a large area with a big crowd. The amp can also connect to a house system. Other than that I just need a chair or bar stool and I'm good to go. Lighting is up to the venue.

I had the privilege and honor to have played several times, including a private lesson, for the legendary Spanish guitarist, Andres Segovia, and that had a great and positive influence on my career as a musician. Over the past three decades I've also had the opportunity to work with many superb professional musicians in New York.
