A few years ago, I was planning a visit to NYC and googled things to do besides Broadway. I came across an advertisement for a show at The Duplex entitled Mama I Want to Sing a Show Tune, a One ‘Mo Show. I thought, OMG that’s my life! I had a great time, and have been a fan ever since. Imagine my excitement when I discovered Adam had a podcast. I’m a faithful listener who anticipates every episode. Adam’s interviewing skills are unmatched. Keep it up the great work!!
Response from Adam Sank:
Thank you so much for your wonderful review, Matthew! It's great to hear that you're a listener of the podcast!
I totally recommend this podcast. We all need this weekly!

"Best party ever!!!" That's all we heard from the 230 people who attended our event. How on earth do you find entertainment that's hysterically funny, fresh, charming and warm, and make it appeal to a sophisticated audience that ranges from 30 somethings up to 80 plus year olds (we were concerned that a few of the older audience might - quite literally - die laughing).? We can now say with complete assurance that the best way to do that is to hire Adam Sank!
In addition to being a stellar performer, Adam was an absolute pleasure to work with. We described the diversity and nature of our audience, and he was off and running. We asked if he could lead a fundraising "brick" sale immediately following his act - we had heard from others that he was a highly skilled fundraiser at events. He gave us helpful input on how to structure the sale, and was so successful that we far and away exceeded our goals.
We all fell in love with Adam. Many asked for his contact information for their pet organizations, other asked if they could "fix him up", and we all wanted him as our best, and most entertaining, friend. You can't do better!
Response from Adam Sank:
Thanks so much, guys! It was a pleasure and an honor working with you and performing for your event!
Adam Sank is an amazingly funny guy. He not only won over the audience with his well-crafted, often self-deprecating jokes, but also attracted bystanders who never intended to stay but slowly slipped in to hear him. Adam is easy on the eyes and has a charming personality. He’s also brilliant and sharp. That’s reflected in the quality of his performance. He did his research, including local references into his jokes. With laser-fast wit, he jumped on those unexpected opportunities to crack a joke. He does a great job gauging audience reaction. He quickly moved the direction of his routine to keep the audience engaged, but without losing his humorous edge. And on a college campus, that’s tough to do—but he did it spectacularly.
Adam was brought to my attention by a mutual friend. I owned a lounge in Little Rock, called Star Bar. The mention of Adam swinging by to share with us his "Break up Comedy Tour", brought the crowd in larger than it normally would have been. After the first show, and after the patrons called their friends to get to Star Bar to see his second show, I had a full house! Adam is a crowd pleaser! He appeared to know my crowd and they all reacted to him as if they knew and loved him! He is Hilarious and is a natural born entertainer! Thank you Adam for making our night!!!
Mr. Sank did an awesome set for our notoriously finicky club members. They can be pretty picky and occasionally brutal about what constitutes entertainment. Mr. Sank won everyone over instantly and gave a great set - entertaining and hilarious - we love him and hope he'll come back again.
Adam Sank hosted our live auction for the Summit Area YMCA's 125th Gala on November 5th, 2011. He turned what might have been just another dull, black-tie charity auction into a hilarious, sophisticated comedy show that was phenomenally entertaining and monetarily successful. The proceeds from the live auction topped $90,000, which is all the more remarkable when you consider that all of the packages were one-of-a-kind experiences, rather than the typical, high-value auction fare like vintage bottles of wine, vacation houses and jewelry. For example, we auctioned off the opportunity to have the Seton Hall basketball team run a shooting clinic for your child's team. We supplied Adam with a list of our auction packages in advance, and then he wrote a comedy routine that highlighted the specifics of each package. Guests who had no intention of bidding found themselves raising their placards in an effort not to be left out of the show. Equally important, Adam was a consummate professional throughout the evening. He delivered a clean, PG-rated performance for the Y's relatively conservative, very suburban and largely heterosexual audience! We plan to bring Adam back next year because we heard sensational raves and reviews from our donors and guests.
As a producer it is a breath of fresh air to find a comedian that is just that, a comedian. Adam is one of the most professional entertainers in the business. His knowledge of the art of comedy as well as his attention to his craft, have fine polished this man into one of the finest, most diverse comedians on the circuit.
There is a part of me that is reluctant to write this review, because I feel like I am revealing a secret, or maybe I should say, my secret weapon. I've hired Adam on 4 occasions over the past 2 years. Each occassion was a smashing success. Adam is simply brilliant. The fact that he is charming, likable, fearless, handsome. and audience-aware helps, but his high-intelligence, comedic timing, quick-wittedness helps to further set him apart. Using words like "fun" or "hilarious" are simply inadequent. I receive overwhelming feedback after each show with many saying that he is the best comedian they have ever seen, and many asking why is he is not "more famous". It is always extraordinary to watch the buzz that gets created in my town following Adam's shows. Due to capacity constraints, I can sell only 230 tickets. Word of mouth has spread through our community, because now the shows sell out within days after my announcement that Adam is performing. Adam is honest, hard working and professional too. I will continue to try to book Adam, but I realistically and understand that when he gets the national attention that he deserves, it will be far more difficult. He is already quite a celebrity in our town and we know it is just a matter of time before he is onto greater fame and success. I am not alone in wishing him great success, afterall the truly great ones like Adam are the ones who should be "discovered".
I have had the pleasure to hire Adam to perform at several fundraisers. In addition to being an extremely funny and talented comedian Adam has that special something that audiences can't seem to get enough of. He hysterical, likable and charming and disarms and wins an audience from his first jokes on when hitting the stage. He is beyond a Gay comedian he is your funny cousin or brother, coworker or friend. When I plan a fundraiser I always try and have Adam on the show because he is consistently funny, always professional and audiences love and remember and asked for him again and again.
We had Adam Sank serve both as a stand-up comedian and overall host for a capacity crowd of 600 hip young New Yorkers. His comedy had the audience roaring with laughter, and as a host he kept things moving smartly along. My only complaint: he's had conflicting gigs every time I have tried to book him since!
