If you've ever been to the pubs of Ireland, you know the feeling the music gives you. Alehouse Fire (formerly Ashes of Dublin) strives at each and every performance to take you back to that feeling with a combination of traditional and more modern Irish and Celtic music. Alehouse Fire offers lineups ranging from an acoustic duo or trio for small, intimate engagements to a full band, adding upright bass and drums for larger events. With four incredibly talented multi-instrumentalists, Alehouse Fire boasts decades of professional music experience and is proud to garner a reputation as a professional group both on and off the stage. We want to work with you to make your event fantastic!
Excellent musicians. Very personable and professional. Our group loved them! Thanks guys!
We hired Alehouse Fire to play my 50th Birthday Party. They were a Huge hit! They had us singing, dancing, and clapping along to their energetic music. They were so popular, we kept them going for an extra hour. On the day after the party we received several messages from our guests saying how much fun they had and particularly how much the enjoyed the boys in kilts! Thanks so much guys!
There is an Irish expression of hospitality of “Cead Mille Failte” which means ‘a hundred thousand welcomes’…well from our Irish family we say to Alehouse Fire ‘ a hundred thousand thank-yous’…
I am so pleased to write about my experience with Alehouse Fire. Succinctly, as a professional marketer who produces many events, I wholeheartedly recommend Ale House Fire when looking for a professional and talented group of Irish musicians. However, the praise does not end there, as I hired them not for a private client, I hired them for my Mother’s 80th birthday celebration. To say Alehouse Fire made the party even more memorable is an understatement.
We wanted to mark a special birthday for my Irish mother who raised four boys (God bless her). Upon hearing my brothers volunteered my house for the event (thanks guys) I started to get to work on what would be a great festive party. As such, honoring our Irish heritage was important, so my search ensued. From the moment Nate returned my inquiry I knew from his tenor and tone this would be a great band to work with. Accommodating, communicative and flexible is what I found. Moreover, and most importantly, Alehouse Fire is talented and fun. They read the mood of the event and played accordingly.
I love musicians who can share their creative talents through music to a wide audience. Ale House delivered. Hiring a band is a bit of a gamble, kind of like a blind date. They sound good from the telling, but you just don’t know until you’re face to face. With Alehouse Fire, get on to planning your party and don’t worry, they’ll treat you right. We invited them into our home with open arms and would do so again in a heartbeat. If you are in search of a great Irish band with talented, hard working musicians with easygoing personalities, look no further. If this professional event director can trust them with my Mother’s 80th, you can trust them with your event. My mother still tears up thinking about some of the songs they played…Bless their heart! Feel free to contact me if you have any reservations…better yet, contact them and start planning your event!
We hired Nate and guys to perform for a yacht club men's party. The party theme was an Irish pub. They were great. First - very flexible since the party was on Catalina Island at a rural camp with power coming from a generator, they set up under a tree (and they had to come over and go home on one of our members boats). The music was perfect - Irish pub songs, Jimmy Buffet, country western. Guitar around the camp fire at the end of the evening. The guys were very professional, fit in well with our group, and everyone thought they were terrific. I highly recommend Alehouse Fire.
They were great, everyone really enjoyed their music. I would definitely recommend them. They not only played irish songs but threw in a few country ones. Great time had by all
We hired this band for my parent’s 50th wedding anniversary party after seeing them at our daughter’s preschool. The guitarist’s daughter also attends that preschool and his group apparently does some volunteer work, including playing at schools around St. Patrick’s Day. They were totally professional in all our pre-party dealings and were a wonderful addition to our event. They’re clearly all professional musicians and were just incredible to watch and listen to. My mother is Irish so she loved the traditional songs that she could sing along with and the band encouraged her and did a great job accommodating our requests. I can’t recommend these guys enough!

The members of Alehouse Fire have several decades of combined professional musical experience. In addition to a top notch performance, complete professionalism can be expected before, during and after your event.
We can provide our own sound equipment, work with you on event logistics as needed, work to accommodate special requests, and of course dress appropriately for your event (From Kilts to Tuxedos).
Because every member plays several different instruments, we are capable of performing in a variety of configurations which lets us fit almost any situations and it lets us work within almost any budget. They include:
A Duo - which consists of a guitarist/vocalist and a lead instrumentalist/vocalist, who would be playing (switching between) fiddle, mandolin, banjo, accordion and maybe whistle. This option is a great fit for smaller or more intimate occasions and gives a great traditional Irish pub feel with lots of energy and fun.
A Trio - we start to really show off our flexibility here and can put a 3-piece ensemble together with guitar and two lead instruments OR guitar, upright bass and one lead instrument; and of course 3-part vocals. We can also switch between these configurations through the course of a performance as needed. Maybe a mellower set during cocktails and then a more lively set after dinner fits your evening. We can fit the bill perfectly.
A 4-piece (No Drums): Similar to the trio configuration, but this offers even more flexibility. Guitar/Upright Bass and two lead players? No problem. Guitar, 2 lead players and Bodhran (traditional Irish percussion)? No problem. If you want the full Alehouse Fire experience, but find yourself not needing a full drum set, we can put on a great show for any occasion with this line up.
A 4-piece (With Drums): This is what you'd see most commonly if you saw us at one of our many pub or festival performances. Drum set, upright bass, guitar and a lead instrument PLUS 4-part vocals. This allows us to play any song in our catalog from old traditional tunes to current material.
Whatever your tastes may be, Alehouse Fire will work hard to accommodate them and make your event a success.
Drawn together by a love of Irish and Celtic music, the members of Alehouse Fire have decades of combined professional musical experience. Based in Los Angeles CA, the group boasts a mix of traditional Irish (instrumental) jigs, reels & hornpipes and Irish & Scottish folk tunes along the lines of the Irish Rovers, the Dubliners and the Cheiftons. For some events, the group also offers a fantastic offering of more modern Irish songs by Flogging Molly, The Pogues and Dropkick Muprhy to name a few.
Four talented multi-instrumentalists blend guitar, mandolin, fiddle, 5-string banjo, octave mandolin, tenor banjo, accordion, upright bass, Irish whistle and percussion and fantastic vocal harmonies to create a fun and enjoyable Irish music experience.
Alehouse Fire is well suited for a wide variety of engagements and can offer lineups ranging from small duos or trios to a full band that includes upright bass and drums. This incredible musical versatility makes Alehouse Fire perfect for intimate venues, private parties, corporate events and festivals alike.
Whether playing completely acoustic traditional tunes for small gatherings or taking center stage in front of festival crowds, Alehouse Fire is sure to be a crowd favorite.
We are capable of playing completely unplugged for small intimate events for a very traditional feel, or we can provide our own sound reinforcement for events up to several hundred people. For events that require sound reinforcement, we require a 120V/15A circuit and at least a ~15'x10' space. We can be very flexible with our instrumentation to fit your needs in terms of space, volume and song catalog.
