Clients can expect to have a friendly and professional string quartet show up early, dressed, and prepared to perform beautiful music for your event.
At a typical wedding, we will meet each client and help them choose music that is appropriate for their tastes. We specialize in traditional wedding music and classical music, but we also expertly perform other branches of music including disney, latin, jazz, ragtime, and even some popular music. We also take requests for special songs for a small fee.
The Amethyst Ensemble is a String Quartet specializing in performing live music at weddings, parties, ceremonies, and other special events. The artists in The Amethyst Ensemble are some of the finest musicians in the Chicago area. We have collectively performed in over 1000 special events. All musicians are professionals who have received degrees from the finest music schools in the United States. We are a friendly group of people who understand the significance of your special day, and we try to make sure all of our clients have the most beautiful and appropriate music possible. We do take requests for special songs and try to work flexibly with interested parties.
More than just a String Quartet, the Amethyst Ensemble also offers an Oboe Quartet, Flute Quartet, and even a Trumpet Quartet.
We will provide the music and can provide stands for the performance. We typically wear formal concert dress - all black, and suit and tie. However if you have a different idea we are open to discuss. Amplification is almost never necessary, as we are trained to project in almost every situation.
Outdoor weddings need to be planned carefully, with a place for musicians to perform that is out of direct sunlight, as this will damage the varnish of the highly valuable instruments.
