Andrea played so beautifully at my mom’s service. Her music made the ceremony very meaningful for us and gave it such warmth. Andrea, recommended a song to be played that we had never heard but was unbelievably perfect for the occasion and exactly what we needed for middle of our service. She really made a tough day for us very touching with her music.

Andrea Gutierrez is a Colombian-American composer and flutist from Fairfield, California. As a composer, she particularly enjoys writing electroacoustic/electronic works and has composed pieces for several student films, projects, and recitals. As a flutist, she frequently performs either as a soloist or collaborates with various chamber and large ensembles in the Bay Area and is currently an Emerging Artist Fellow for Chamber Music Silicon Valley’s (phone number hidden)4 season. Recently, Andrea has been featured as a cohort member for Quinteto Latino’s Biannual Seminario, performed as a soloist in CMSV’s 2023 Music Festival, and traveled to Mexico as an assistant flute/woodwind instructor for Opera de Tijuana’s music camp.
Andrea received her A.A. in Performance from Napa Valley College, studying under flutist Jennifer Hunt and received her B.M. in Composition from San Jose State University where she studied with composer Dr. Christopher Luna-Mega and studied flute with Dr. Ray Furuta.
