Soulfully sassy. Purposefully passionate. The voice and the charisma that is Angela Ray are the elements that make her an amazing an actress, award winning speaker, emcee, and author. Her film credits include Boo! A Madea Halloween, Keeping up with the Jones, and Christine, to name a few. As an actress, she is best known for her role as “Carol” the shady landlord on Tyler Perry’s Love Thy Neighbor on the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN). She is the author of the books Rays of Motivation™, Blackberry Whispers and Megastar Student Leadership: Lessons I Learned as an Actress That Can Help You Lead, Achieve and Succeed. She is a recipient of the George Moses Horton Award for poetry and the Voice Award from Perfected in the Light.

Using her background in acting and natural ability to connect to people, Angela has often graced the stage as an emcee and host. Combining her love of food and hosting skills, she has been the resident emcee for the Food Lion Chef Challenge for 3 years, greeting audiences at various events including the ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament Fan Fest, the CIAA Basketball Tournament Fan Fest and multiple locations of the Southern Women’s Show. For over six years she emceed the Breakfast for M’Lady Program for the Oxford Henderson Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. Angela was tapped twice to host Let’s Talk Teal, a program presented in partnership with the Georgia Ovarian Cancer Alliance. She has emceed countless talent shows, charity events, and community programs along with live television for Public Television's annual fundraiser.

A die hard Tar Heel who unapologetically bleeds Carolina Blue, Angela is an honors graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Radio, Television, Motion Pictures and Speech Communication.
