Hello! I am Antonio Cevallos, a violinist and performer with a vast catalogue of music ranging from pop to classical. My performance career has taken me all over the globe performing in some of the most prestigious concert spaces. Now based in Austin, I perform with the San Antonio Symphony, Austin Symphony and Austin Lyric Opera. Originally from Chicago, Antonio began his musical studies at age 3 and made his solo orchestral debut at 17 performing Saint Saens Violin Concerto #3. As a young performer, opportunities brought Antonio to Canada, Spain, Portugal, China, South Korea and Ecuador.
Antonio has performed on some of the world's best stages including Chicago Symphony Hall and The Seoul Arts Center. Locally, Antonio has performed on Texas main stages such as the Long Center in Austin and the Tobin Center in San Antonio.
As a student, Antonio participated in several Young Artist programs such as The Meadowmount School and The Chamber Music Seminar at Virginia Tech. Internationally, Antonio participated in the Casalmaggiore Festival and the Cremona Academy in Italy. Additionally, Antonio was a Young Artist Fellow at The Colorado College Summer Music Festival and participated in the prestigious Kneisel Hall Summer Chamber Music Festival.
Currently, Antonio is a resident of Austin, TX and is an avid performer and recording artist. Antonio is a substitute musician with the Austin Symphony and Austin Lyric Opera and has been a contracted musician for the San Antonio Symphony since 2018. In 2022 Antonio joined the San Diego Symphony as substitute musician.
As a teacher, Antonio has worked and collaborated with many famous educators from around the world such as Roger Chase, Toby Apple and David Takeno. In Austin, Antonio learned and worked with Dr. Laurie Scott in the University of Texas String Project. In 2017 Antonio completed Suzuki Training with Dr. Laurie Scott and in 2018 graduated from the University of Texas, Austin with a minor in string pedagogy. In 2019, Antonio began working with the Austin Chamber Music Center teaching and coaching chamber music to middle school and high school students.
Antonio holds a Bachelor's Degree in Violin Performance from The Chicago College of Performing Arts and a Master's Degree in Violin Performance with a Minor in String Pedagogy from The University of Texas, Austin. His Principal teachers include Lydia Monahan, Mark Zinger, Stefan Hersh and Daniel Ching.
