Artichoke makes weird and catchy pop music for creative families. We perform songs from our concept albums such as "Bees," "26 Animals" and "26 Scientists." Artichoke's live show is charming and spontaneous, sounding a bit like They Might Be Giants, the Beatles and Beck.
Kids and adults all had a great time while artichoke performed! They're great people and definitely recommend them!

Depending on your budget and your event, Artichoke can provide a variety of musical options. We are an original band, playing friendly and catchy tunes. We can put on a full hour of indie rock with the whole 6-piece band. Or we can do something smaller, with just a few of us playing for a more intimate show.
Timothy Sellers is an artist and musician who leads the band Artichoke. Since 1999, Artichoke has played around Los Angeles at such venues as the Geffen Theatre, The Griffith Observatory, Lummis Day, the Eagle Rock Music Festival, Spaceland, the Echo, Al's Bar, Mr. T's Bowl, an architect's treehouse, and many schools and parties. The band has made ten albums, been featured in the science section of the New York Times for "26 Scientists," and on the cover of the LA Weekly for their kids album "26 Animals."
Artichoke can work with you to create a unique musical event. We generally require electricity for our guitars and PA, preferably NOT from a portable loud generator! You'd be surprised how many event coordinators think a loud generator next to the band is a good idea : )
