The kids had a great time and enjoyed painting, even if it wasn't a unicorn!

It was unfortunate that the artist arrived late due to a location error. Once he arrived, the adults did help get setup to get the party started.

Maybe next time, we can stick with the theme, instead of telling a bunch of 8-year-olds that they can paint whatever they want, but the lesson is going to be a unicorn, stick with the theme and things would go much smoother.

Remember the age of the 'students', make sure that you explain things on their level and don't confuse them by saying one color, but then telling them a story about you painting in another for them to see better, just choose a color and paint.

Overall, the party was a success, the kids all had a good time painting and the host artist was personable and kept the kids engaged in what they were painting while continuing the unicorn for the few that were following along.

A second round with much more specific criteria for the students is definitely a possibility in the future, as the venue was fun for all involved and the cost was reasonable for the artist and supplies.
