I am a professional cellist with an extensive background and experience in music. Graduating from University of Toronto and Mannes New School of Music for a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Cello Performance, and currently holding positions of Assistant Principal Cellist and Principal Cellist in two orchestras, you can be assured quality in the music I provide. I also have performed in private and corporate events all over the city for over 5 years so you can be confident in my professionalism and services.
Music I provide are not limited to solo cello. I have many musicians that I play with, so groups of various sizes can be easily provided, whether that is duet, trio, or quartets!
Very average performance and average pick of songs to play. Didn’t stand out and the performer didn’t engage with the crowd. It was as if he is there to do his hour and leave.

What beautiful Baroque cello music that both inspired and soothed us! I definitely highly recommend Austin Chao and hope to hire his professional services in one month when my family and I have our annual Christmas gathering in that same location which is a condo party room. I just wish we had a stage to position him on and I wish I hired him for longer than one hour! Bravo and encore!!!!!!!!!

Austin was wonderful to work with. He was prompt with his communication and also on the day of our wedding he showed up half an hour early to make sure that he was ready to go for the start time. He was also incredibly accommodating, making recommendations for songs and also taking requests from us for songs we would like to have played. In particular I appreciated his transparency on songs he thought would not work for solo cello so that we could make informed decisions. I would definitely recommend working with him!

Austin Chao was a superb cellist who added a touch of glamour and elegance to our conference cocktail.
