Belly Dance by Zattana

Zattana and Troupe Roja are available for family-friendly performances at events such as: birthday parties, graduation parties, anniversaries, retirement parties, cultural and educational events, corporate events, and more! Zattana and Troupe Roja do NOT perform at bachelor or all-male parties. Most performances last between 15-30 minutes, include at least 3 songs and 1 prop, and may involve guest participation, if desired. Longer full shows with costume changes are available as well. Details including props, music, and costumes may be customized for your event.

Have you ever wanted to TRY belly dance? In addition to shows, Zattana is available for belly dance shimmy parties as well! Shimmy parties last 30-60 minutes and include instruction of basic belly dance moves that party guests will then learn how to "perform" in their own mini-choreography! Zattana will bring hip scarves to share and a complimentary CD of belly dance music for the party host. This is a sure way to make your party unforgettable!

Zattana is also available as a henna artist for private parties, school events, and corporate events. Henna parties have a 1 hr minimum and can last up to 3 hours. Zattana will bring books with designs for participants to choose from and is also able to do custom artwork. She will provide the henna, artwork services (multiple artists available if needed), and a bit of decor to set the mood...you provide the "canvas"! Henna body art is the ultimate party favor to give your guests!

Zattana has studied and professionally performed Middle Eastern dance in the Miami Valley area and beyond since 2001. Troupe Director of the multi-award-winning troupe, Roja, she is well-known for her fun and innovative choreography. American style belly dance is Zattana's primary performance style. She also studies and performs folkloric styles from the Gulf and North Africa, Turkish Romani, and Egyptian and Turkish orientale. Zattana specializes in prop-work; performances may include (a real!) sword, veil, fanveils, Isis wings, shamadan, cane, or finger cymbals/zills. Zattana and Troupe Roja perform regularly at esteemed cultural events such as Dayton's A World A'Fair and the St.Ignatius Lebanese Festival.

Zattana is the ONLY professional belly dancing henna artist in Ohio and is also available as a henna artist for private parties, school events, and corporate events. Zattana has been "slinging henna" as a professional henna artist for over 10 years at private parties, Middle Eastern hafli, and festivals like the Yellow Springs Street Fair and the Ohio Renaissance Festival. She continues to study the art form and has lectured on henna art and history at events like the Known World Music & Dance Symposium at Ohio State University.

Performer needs: a sound system capable of playing CDs (though Zattana will also bring a boombox back-up), a safe place to store personal belongings during the show, and at least 5x5ft clear space in which to dance (more space may be required if Troupe Roja is performing). While Zattana and Troupe Roja are able to perform both indoors and outdoors, a description of the dance space is helpful in planning your event.

Henna artist needs: sufficient lighting (daylight or lamplight) and a 3x3ft clear space for set up. All other materials will be supplied.
