Bobby Joe Valentine is an incredibly gifted musician with a joyful voice. Our celebration felt like a dream and Bobby set the tone.

Bobby Jo was simply the best.

His music was perfect -- some of his originals are ideal for a wedding, he played three of his originals at key moments for us, and he has a breadth of covers he can play from other artists. Many of the comments we got about the day were about how perfect the music was.

Bobby Jo might be the nicest musician around! My husband and I hired him for our July wedding for the ceremony, cocktail hour and first dance. We loved his original songs, and incorporated them along with other songs we liked into our day. He worked with us on editing our first dance song so it would work with our choreographed dance, and he even learned a new song to play when we exited the aisle for our ceremony. He was such a joy to work with, and his style perfectly fit our wedding and what we were looking for. Overall, he is a wonderful musician, and I would highly recommend him!

My wedding guests could not get enough of BJV- not only did they rave about him at the event, but we received text messages and calls days after our wedding from guests wondering who our guitarist was. I began communicating with BJV last Fall, he came highly recommended from my venue (Villagio) and he didn't disappoint. I was impressed with his email communication (timely and effective) as well as his adaptability (2 mos before the event I increased his contracted time so that I could have him play through our cocktail hour and dinner). We invited Bobby Jo to Bodega Bay Lodge to sing at our wedding ceremony, reception and first dance upon hearing a few clips online. His music brought us back to that feeling of when we first fell in love. The energy and spirit which he brings to any venue is pure magic. Bobby was everything I had dreamed of in a guitar vocalist for our wedding (and I had been dreaming about my wedding day since I was 5). He played for our wedding ceremony, cocktail hour and first dance.. and I HIGHLY recommend him! Here's a summary of how he made our wedding day magical and memorable:

In terms of planning: We chose Bobby based on his audio clips, Youtube videos.. and his personality. Bobby was the easiest (perfect) vendor to work with. He was VERY responsive, reliable, professional, proactive and accommodating. He has such a sweet personality and really aims to please his clients. He's reasonably priced compared to other vendors out there, especially since he really went above and beyond for us, playing both guitar and ukulele (since my hubby's from Hawaii), and learned 2 new songs for our ceremony and first dance! I actually loved his versions more than the originals!

In terms of skills and performance: His performance was flawless. I can't count the number of guests who came up to us to compliment Bobby and ask us for his name. One guest thought he was Jack Johnson at first! Bobby played all the songs at the right time and skipped parts of songs as we had asked. Setup time and moving into the reception for the first dance was quick and smooth. I also loved his style; he was dressed professionally but not too formal, perfect for a Napa outdoor wedding. To top it all off, it was such a nice surprise to have Bobby playing our song when we walked in for a private "first-look" of the reception hall.. so romantic. He's such an amazing, multi-talented artist and we are so lucky to have had him be a part of our special day.

Bobby Jo played at my wedding in September and he did a fantastic job. He was beyond professional and played the perfect mix of songs. I had been watching BJV online and was anticipating his live performance at my client/friend's Wedding. I was instantly Star Struck, BJV has that magic that makes you stop right in your tracks. His voice and performance was so soothing and exciting because he is So Good!! I felt like I was the only girl in the room ~ but alas there were other ladies star struck too! When Bobby Jo started to play, the Bride Lit UP ~ His voice is enchanting! He played during dinner & for the "First Dances" and he was Just Perfect , he made these special moments even better because he is One of a kind!

Where to start, there is something special and magical about Bobby Jo Valentine!! Beautiful music with the type of warmth and personality that makes you feel like he's been one of your best friends even after meeting him for the first time. Bobby Jo helped me create the perfect night and perfect proposal for my recent fiancé and me in Kauai during the end of May 2013. So thankful for all his help (feedback) and patience during the months of planning and last minute detail changes. Bobby played our event in the caves at Miner Vineyards. Our 50 guest loved the music and Bobby Jo's easy style, both in his original tunes and covers. We highly recommend him!

Once a month we host a First Friday music event for our community and invited Bobby to perform. He was easy to work with and charmed the audience with his professionalism and talent.

Bobby made our night even more special and memorable as we walked into the private dining room hearing him play one of our favorite songs. We enjoyed choosing each song from his play list as well as choose two songs which were not on his list. This made it very personal and unique. My only disappointment was that we should have booked him longer! I definitely recommend bobby for any special event :)

I attended BJV "Home" album release concert. I'm not into love songs, but man oh man did Booby get the crowd going. His energy and personality win the audience over from the second he gets on stage to the standing ovation at the end. I Still listen to his CD all the time.

I recently hired Bobby Jo to play at a wedding that I was coordinating. As a wedding planner I work with a lot of musicians. Bobby Jo was very professional and did an amazing job. All the guests were talking about how good he was. Bobby Jo played for the ceremony and was able to play the traditional Canon D but also learned a Cold Play song just for my bride and groom because that was what they wanted to walk back up the aisle too. We had him play the cocktail hour too and his song list is the perfect music and vibe for a cocktail hour. I would defiantly hire him and look forward to working with him again in the future.

Bobby Jo provided the perfect music for my son's intimate, outdoor wedding ceremony. His contribution to the occasion was fantastic. He is such a professional in every way and I am so thankful he was a part of our special day. We hired Bobby Jo for our event last October 2011 after finding him on Gigsalad. He was amazing, so we naturally hired him again for our next event which was yesterday. He is, without a doubt, a huge part of what makes our event successful. He is easy to work with, punctual, supportive, adaptable and always has a positive outlook. Here are my ACTIONS concerning this Singer/Songwriter.... As the 2010 to 2011 year progressed within the West Coast Songwtriter's organization, I tuned in to the You Tube videos of Bobby Jo. I literally saw this young man rise to the top and take the final win for his song, " Fly. " ( I also literally, " called it. " Meaning that I designated Mr. Valentine the winner before he actually won. ) So, after 18 years of constant work and other ugly things that included NOT attending any live music, I picked myself up, dusted off and made it to one of his appearances in Sacramento. THEN, I got on an airplane and flew to Tacoma, WA to see him again. THEN, I decided to get on another airplane, about the next week, and see him in Seattle... Bobby Jo Valentine is my Happy Place. I am sure that he would be yours too. ACTION !!

Bobby Jo Valentine played a set at an impromptu house party at my loft in San Jose. As he is new to the music scene, no one in attendance had heard of him before. He amazed the audience with his performance and left them wanting more. Now my friends are listening to his CD nonstop!

Music aside, Bobby is a great person with a tenacious work ethic. I hope to see him do great things in the music business.

My husband and I love music, and we started listening to Bobby Jo after the release of his new CD…now we're hooked on his music. He brings heart and meaning to his songs, along with awesome guitar and ukulele talent, and catchy lyrics that we find ourselves singing to even when the music stops! We've introduced his music to friends and family, and everyone who's heard him, enjoys the music, and asks, "Who is that?" We've been to his gig at Copperfield's in Petaluma and Hotmonk in Sonoma, and his record release at Max's in Corte Madera, which was a blast. He engages generously with his audience and is very humble and appreciative, all adding to his appeal. If you want a new, unique sound that gets you going and relaxes you at the same time, this artist is a must-hear, must-see.
