Blake did a fantastic job for my parents' 50th wedding anniversary celebration! He played for most of three hours, jazz part of the time, and accompanying my parents and their guests who sang Broadway show tunes. So much fun! Blake arrived on time and did his best to accommodate requests (to be clear, he is, I believe, more of a jazz pianist than a show tunes guy, but he had some forewarning that show tunes would be requested and he brought appropriate music). A great time was had by all!

I always arrive early, dressed impeccably, and I am friendly and flexible. I can tailor the music to the needs of the occasion, from energetic and uptempo jazz to mellow and atmospheric mood music. If there are people who want to sing, I have led many sing-alongs. I am NOT well suited to accompany and/or lead a sing-along of current pop hits. My most comfortable styles are light jazz, classical piano (such as Chopin and Debussy), Broadway music and popular songs from the 60s to the 90s.
Blake Rowe attended Peabody Conservatory and graduated with a degree in piano performance from Manhattan School of Music. He teaches elementary music at the Fieldston Lower School in Bronx, NY. He has provided music for private and corporate events since 1982. He has worked with several event planners who have said he is the first person they call. He is most often hired as a solo musician but is also available with bass, drums and saxophone (or any combination).
