Boxcar Preachers

Boxcar Preachers are a well-oiled machine that has been playing together since 2001. We get people dancing and put smiles on the listener's faces.

Boxcar Preachers are Austin's OGs of Americana music. Having roots in Bluegrass and American traditional folk music, their live sets are fast-paced, tight, very entertaining, and always add so much. Harmonies, top notch picking and lots of energy, Boxcar Preachers deliver consistently every time and make a better experience for our customers every time they grace the stage.

We have had the good luck to headline the Guinness International Bluegrass Festival a few times. Our touring has also taken us to England and performed on both Bob Harris and Mark Lamarr shows on BBC.

Boxcar Preachers consist of
1. Banjo (plays direct to PA or with an amp), also sings (SM58 style mic preferrable)
2. Dobro/slide guitar (plays direct to PA or with an amp)
3. Fiddle (plays direct to PA or through mic; SM58 style mic preferrable)
4. Percussion/tenor banjo/mandolin - plays through PA using mic (SM58 style mic preferrable)
5. Bass (double bass/upright) - plays direct to PA or with an amp), also sings (SM58 style mic preferrable)
6. Acoustic Guitar - (plays direct to PA or with an amp), also sings (SM58 style mic preferrable)

With a smaller space and crowd, Boxcar Preachers has been known to set up completely acoustically (no additional mic/PA/amplification needed)
