With a background in pop, jazz, rock, and country, I bring a unique mix to each performance. At your request, whether you're a fan of old standards or the latest pop tunes on the charts, you'll hear a setlist that's as dynamic as it is entertaining.

When I perform solo, I have a loudspeaker to play backing tracks and accompaniment, creating a full, rich sound that fills the venue. You'll witness a seamless blend of live saxophone with high-quality backing tracks, bringing a concert-like experience to your event. I am able to double as a singer and a clarinetist as well, but I specialize in saxophone performance. My ability to learn new pieces quickly and on the fly means I can tailor my set to your preferences, incorporating your favorite songs and adding a personal touch to every performance.

Brandon J. Fu is an accomplished musician and dynamic leader, known for his expertise in contemporary and classical music.

Brandon's talents shine through his principal positions as a tenor saxophonist and clarinetist. He has been selected as the Principal (1st Chair) for the Phillips Academy Jazz Band, Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, and Chamber Orchestra for three consecutive years. His commitment includes attending and leading over 250 rehearsals and participating in 36 concerts. Notably, Brandon has also performed solo at trustee dinners, chamber music concerts, memorial services, and commencement ceremonies, demonstrating his versatility and poise.

As the founder and co-president of Big Blue Note, Brandon has created a vibrant contemporary music education organization, bringing together over 50 members for weekly jam sessions and performances. His leadership extends to organizing fundraising events to invite renowned artists to the campus, enriching the musical culture of Phillips Academy.

In addition to his school activities, Brandon co-founded "The Repercussions," the largest student-run band at Phillips Academy, delivering electrifying performances for over 500 students. His band has captivated audiences with over 90 songs across three major shows.

Brandon's musical journey is further enriched by his involvement with the New England Conservatory, where he serves as the Principal Tenor Saxophone in NEC's Youth Jazz Orchestra. He collaborates with peers and faculty, performing diverse repertoire in semesterly concerts. His excellence is recognized through his selection as the top jazz tenor saxophonist in Massachusetts by MMEA Senior District and All-State.

An articulate speaker, Brandon was chosen as a TEDx speaker at Phillips Academy, where he delivered an engaging talk on "Playing Jazz in Your Everyday Life." His accolades include being a Young Arts National Winner and an NPR From the Top National Finalist in 2024.

Beyond music, Brandon enjoys cooking, busking in Boston, and following Philadelphia sports. His technical skills include proficiency in Microsoft Office and Sibelius music software, alongside fluency in Mandarin. Brandon’s vibrant musical talent and leadership make him a compelling addition to any musical event or gig.

I simply just need a space to set up that's preferably in cover if it is sunny or rainy outside. Depending on the size of the venue (if it is exceptionally large), I may need a microphone. Everything else (sound, staging) I could set up myself.
