Brotherhood of Freaks plays the music of Chris Robinson Brotherhood. If you know the music of CRB, you’ll be stoked to hear it played live again by musicians who love playing these songs. If you’ve never heard CRB, it’s just great danceable music, in the vein of the Rolling Stones, Grateful Dead, the American rock & roll catalog, and good ol’ psychedelic music. CRB disbanded after the tragic passing of Neal Casal in 2019. Brotherhood of Freaks was formed to keep that treasure trove of musical bliss alive and rockin’. We have embraced the CRB catalog and hope to lovingly play it for your listening and dancing pleasure! "Let the (music of) CRB set you free!"

A dedication to playing funky, booty-shaking music
WE are a funk and soul band from Santa Cruz. We feature incredible lead and harmony backing vocals, tasty guitar and keyboard playing, and a seriously funky rhythm section.
We started playing in 2017 , and have played at Slim's in SF, Moe's Alley in Santa Cruz, Flynn's Cabaret in Felton, Michael's on Main in Soquel, and at several private parties. Our goal is to cause you to dance and feel good, and we're good at achieving our goal.
Cosmic Pinball is comprised of:
Bret Bailey - drums
Pete Novembre - bass
Steven Sofranko - organ, clavinet, piano
Mike Johnson - guitar, lap slide guitar
Taylor Rae - vocals
Scott McDonald - vocals
Sydney Gorham - vocals
We have several originals songs (composed by Taylor, Scott, and Bret) and are adding more all the time; we love playing funk standards by bands such as the Meters, Funkadelic, Tower of Power; we love funkifying rock tunes by Steely Dan, Joe Cocker, Blind Faith, and many more.
