This is the second time in a little more than a year that we have asked Cara to perform at a memorial service after our family had suffered a profound loss. Last July, she and her guitarist, Jeff Bates, delivered an exquisite performance at my mother’s memorial service, one that managed to acknowledge the wounding elements of our loss while harnessing their musical virtuosity to raise all of us up to a place where we could see above the gloaming. This time it was my father’s memorial service at which she performed, and, if anything, the work that she and her guitarist, Jackson Jarrett, did was even more flawless. My father had eclectic musical tastes, running the gamut from Waylon Jennings to The Clancy Brothers. We asked Cara to perform the former’s “Mamas Don’t Let Your Babies Grow up to Be Cowboys,” a rather rough-edged song that, to understate, presented some challenges to arrange for a memorial service. Cara and Jackson managed to construct an arrangement that, without detracting from the lyrics’ mordant humor, moved the song into the elegiac.
I know that it is a cliché to say that a performer has become a member of one’s family. That is, however, genuinely how we feel about Cara. The care (and even caritas) she has shown for us as she has responded to our requests and shared with us both her celestial voice and her limitless compassion has helped us to navigate the jagged shoals of grief in ways that have advanced our healing. As my wife often says, “There is life in the desert.” Cara is that life for us.

Response from Cara LaGreen:
Dearest Ron: Thank you for the ever amazing and poignant review. You have such a lovely way with words and you and your wonderful wife Grace truly feel like family to us as well. I know it is no easy task to find the right fit for a singer at such a solemn time, and to be trusted with that last year for your mother and then this year with your father is truly an honor that I treasure greatly. Last year we felt as though we would have loved to have known your mother, it was such a beautiful celebration, and this year having had the pleasure of meeting your father the year prior and seeing what a character he was, I felt such love being able to share his favorite songs with his friends and family. Singing for your family in these moments has made me realize what it truly means to try and heal with my voice and I am forever grateful for the opportunity. As you said, maybe we can sing for a happy occasion next time, in the meantime though I will truly always remember this experience and treasure you and your family forever.
We've had Cara and Jeff performing at our annual family Christmas party for the 3rd year now. I cannot say enough about what great performers they are. Their song choices are great and Cara's voice is amazing. They go above and beyond to accommodate the theme, the time, the songs requests and craziness of a big family's celebration. They are always professional, on time and on point. It is always a great experience to work with them. I highly recommend Cara and Jeff.

Thank you so much for your lovely review, we look forward to your party every year and are so grateful to have had the pleasure of performing for you the last 4 years. You make us feel like a part of the family and we absolutely love your themes, decorations, and all of the family getting together to create a truly magnificent event. We can't wait for Grinchmas next year.
Cara and her guitarist were fantastic for our Holiday Work party. They were very entertaining and really knew how to keep the crowd involved. I really enjoyed the interactive numbers with props. It was such a great experience. Overall, they were excellent with their communication, ability to interact and perform as well as arriving early to set up and go over the logistics. We enjoyed the convenience of GigSalad, too. We are very happy with the experience as a whole and can’t wait to book again. Thank you!!!

Dear Jen: Thank you so much for the wonderful review. We had such an amazing time at your holiday party and got such a kick out of the impromptu Feliz Navidad Conga line. Pathologists sure know how to party. You were so organized with all of the details ahead of time you were just a joy to work with. Thank you also for booking us again for your party next year. We can't wait.
We really enjoyed your music, song choices, the flamenco guitar playing, and the kazoo and shakers for us to participate with the songs! It was so much fun having you both entertain our guests and they all just raved about how much fun they had with y’all! Thank you for staying longer and we all wanna wish you a Merry Christmas!
Cara always does an amazing job at her gigs. She covers a variety of songs, interacts and gives props to the kids in attendance, and is overall a pleasure to work with!
Cara went above and beyond for this backyard wedding during Covid. She learned a few new songs requested by the bride. She even provided assistance with getting other vendors lined up for the wedding! It really felt like chatting with a friend during the planning process and continued into the reception/after party. I would definitely hire Cara again for a rockabilly event.

Not only was Cara very professional, she was also gracious and made the song come to life. Anyone hiring Cara will have a positive experience. I am grateful to have found Cara and will be asking her back again and again.

Cara joined our virtual holiday party over Zoom and did a phenomenal job! Not only is she really talented with beautiful vocals and personality to boot -- but Cara was extremely personable and really connected with our audience. Her guitarist was awesome and talented as well! Cara was easy to work with and she communicated really well. It was so easy to book her for our event! Oh, and the quality of her video, audio and festive background was top notch! It felt like she was broadcasting from a professional TV studio. Thank you, Cara!

Thank you so much for having us again this year, we absolutely look forward to your party every year and love the themes, and all the thought that goes into the decorations, food, crafts for the kids, raffles, etc. Mostly I enjoy how its been a family tradition for so many years and how the whole family works together on it all year. We are so honored to get to be a part of your wonderful family's day. You are truly the party of the year.
Cara was a good performer, and was entertaining. The attendees at our event all had a nice time. Only complaint is that she showed up late, and started 10 minutes after the scheduled time. She apologized, but it wasn't a good first impression as this was an extremely important marketing event for our company.

Response from Cara LaGreen:
Thank you for your review, we had a wonderful time entertaining your lovely guests for your holiday open house. Again, I apologize for starting seven minutes late as I know you mentioned the guests started arriving much earlier the you expected. I am normally never late for a performance but in this instance, there were extenuating circumstances that unfortunately were unavoidable. Since the event ended an hour after we were scheduled to finish, I hope that the complimentary additional hour of entertainment helped make up for the late start.
Your high praise at the end of our set led me to believe you were more than satisfied with our performance and understanding of the circumstances which led to the slightly late start, if there is anything I can do in addition to the complementary hour we performed please let me know and I will endeavor to make your next booking with us even better.
Cara, your music & talent touched the lives of our elderly residents. You made their Christmas so memorable & spirited. We will absolutely book again!

Response from Cara LaGreen:
Thank you so much, we have so loved being a part of your Christmas party for your lovely residents the last two years. It was so lovely to see everyone so happy to get dressed up and be able to sing Christmas songs and forget about being in pain for a bit. I loved all of the families of the residents attending as well, it truly felt so spirited and warm, and the best way to start off the season. You were wonderful to work with and your family is truly special. I so admire all you do for the residents, you truly have the most amazing spirit. Thank you again and I hope to get to sing for you soon.
Such a delight to work with -
Professional and such a joy!
Thank you for making the holiday party a huge success!

Response from Cara LaGreen:
Thank you so much for having us, we had a wonderful time entertaining at your party, you and your sisters and brother were great to work with and just so much fun, and dancing with your daughter with the feather boa was priceless. I will never forget the fancy mini tomato soup cups with grilled cheese, that was just fantastic. Can't wait to sing for your mom when she gets into town and for your birthday party in the spring. Thanks again.
Cara and her guitarist, Jeff Bates, delivered a transcendent performance at my mother’s memorial service. Many of the guests approached me after the program had concluded to ladle praise on them, with most of these people identifying their contributions as “the best part of the service.” Cara and Jeff actually volunteered to fold the ukulele version of “Somewhere over the Rainbow” into the program (at no charge) as a “gathering song” at the outset of the service, a gesture that profoundly touched my father because that version of the song was my Mom’s favorite.
Working with Cara was not just effortless. It was also edifying and elevating. She understood from the outset how off-balance I was because of the freshness of my mother’s passing and, as a consequence, how much guidance I needed as I sought to honor her. She gently directed me to the proper choices for my Mom. She even enlisted her husband, Gavin, in this effort, who designed the program for the service and transformed the raw materials of the pictures of my Mom I provided him with into an unforgettable slideshow that was a much art as it was tribute.
Cara is, in short, both a preternaturally gifted artist and a profoundly empathetic human being. My family and I felt blessed to have had the opportunity to work with her on this melancholy but significant event. Sometimes one is lucky enough to encounter a “household saint” when one most needs such a "visitation." Cara was our saint when our house was most troubled.

Cara LaGreen has a beautiful voice and a wonderful stage presence. At a dinner, I watched her walk through an audience, microphone in hand--never missing a beat--while playfully engaging the guests. Another time she sang at my mother's celebration of life. Her style was respectful and demure, perfect for that event. She reads a crowd well, and has the talent to make her performances work. I would hire her again in a minute.

Cara La Green performed for the CSUF-OLLI Bella Sera Italiano dinner party. She and her arrived ahead of time to get set up and tuned up without disrupting any aspect of the event. She was dressed in an Italian-flavored outfit that was colorful and charming while she strolled among the tables singing beautiful and familiar Italian songs. For some she encouraged the audience to sing along with her. In addition, she told stories of her Italian family, which the audience loved! She is a beautiful woman who happened to be talented as well. She made the event!

I booked Cara for a wedding proposal in Orange County. She was, by far, the easiest to work with, not to mention friendly, outgoing, and very musically talented. She was open to my ideas and helped me devise a great proposal that went wonderfully. She performed a requested song to perfection and helped me with location, timing, and even had my event filmed for me. If you ever need a performer for ANY event, I highly recommend Cara. You will very pleased with her professionalism and spirited attitude.

Response from Cara LaGreen:
Dear Jim:
Thank you so very much, we had a blast assisting in the planning of your proposal and were absolutely delighted with the outcome. It was so much fun to pretend to be singing on the street and for you to come up to us and ask us to surprise you with a song. I absolutely loved watching your bride to be's reaction and everyone around us sharing in the joy as well. It's those beautiful moments that just make life joyous and I am so grateful to have had the pleasure to be a part of it. You were so easy going and wonderful to work with, such a dream client. I wish you both such love and joy in the future and can't wait to sing at the wedding.
I hired Cara LaGreen to sing at Main Place Mall for the holiday season. She was just wonderful. Cara worked with her guitar player to create a unique set of updated versions of the holiday classics. She changed it up to add in flamenco, jazz, and Bossa Nova styles to some of the songs and added some spanish songs and some traditional arrangements as well. Cara also brought kazoos for the kids in the audience to play along with her while she sang 'I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas'. She brought props and instruments for different songs and really made her set special.
Children stood in pure wonderment while adults took a break from their busy shopping to appreciate what the season is all about. I could not have been more pleased with the product and the professionalism Cara brought us as well as the heart she puts into her singing.
I would truly recommend Cara to entertain for any occasion.

Response from Cara LaGreen:
Dear Christy:
Thank you so much for hiring us to sing for two nights at Main Place Mall during the Holiday season. It was truly one of the highlights of our season to see all of the busy stressed out shoppers stop for a minute to smile and as you said, remember what the season is all about. Thank you again so much and hope you have a wonderful holiday season.
A few months ago I started planning my Dad's 60th surprise birthday party and I knew that I wanted to hire someone to sing at it. My Dad grew up going to concerts on a regular basis, photographing many, and I knew that he would love having live music at his special party. I'm so glad that I chose Cara to sing at his party.
She was extremely friendly and open to suggestions. I shared with her the type of music that my Dad likes, including Elton John, Train, and the Beatles to name a few. She assured me that she would include songs from those artists in her playlist and indeed she did. She did a fantastic job in regards to the song selection and the guests thoroughly enjoyed having her at the party.
Cara was easy to get ahold of and checked in prior to the event to go over final details. She was very flexible and easy going, as she was asked to perform outside on our patio that isn't the largest of patios. Most importantly, her voice is incredible and even though she is more of a Jazz singer, she does a fabulous job singing songs from all genres of music.
Cara ended up sending us a thank you note about a week or two after the event, which really impressed my family and I. It was such a thoughtful gesture and made us think even more highly of her. We would definitely have her perform at another event in the future.
Thank you Cara for making my Dad's 60th birthday party such a memorable one!

Response from Cara LaGreen:
Dear Kimberly: Thank you so much for having us perform at your father's 60th birthday party. We had such a wonderful time going over the playlist with you and picking out the special songs that your dad loves. The outside patio was lovely to perform in the open air and the highlight for sure besides getting everyone to sing "Today is your birthday", while cutting the cake, was absolutely seeing you and your dad dance to his favorite song "Soul Sister". You were so fun and friendly to work with and the whole event was just a joy to be a part of. Thank you again so much.

She is a member of The Actors Equity Association and SAG - AFTRA.

After silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music.
A bird does not sing because it has an answer. It sings because it has a song.
