I txt her the night before to let her know how early she can come to set up. My event started at 10am. She didn’t message me until 10:10 to let me know she can’t make due to inclement weather. She said she tried to call me to let me know but I do not have a missed call from her. She offered to give me a refund but when I told her how she can send it I didn’t hear from her. I had to call her to see when is she going to send it. When I spoke with her she said they the weather said it was 30 degrees in my area and wanted to know if I canceled my event I told her no, the event was indoors. If you didn’t want to get out in the cold weather she could have cancel a long time ago so I can book someone else. But she wait until she received the funds and then not show up. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. Btw I’m still waiting for my refund.

Good evening Ms. Abriel, I can understand how upset you are that I wasn't able to service your event BUT let's point out the specifics underlined with ALL DUE RESPECT.
Number One: the number you left was not a direct contact number to you but to the place of your business, therefore this was the ONLY number you provided.
Number Two: you did not specify that the festival would be indoors and being that the average person would assume outdoors this particular subject wasn't specified, NOR did not leave any message clarifying how early I could arrive to set up. I've combed through ALL of my text messages (even checked my voicemail ) and found no specific said message and I put that on my stepfather's grave.
Number Three: Ms. Abriel, I'm very much aware that you've read my message, stating " I highly encourage you in requesting a refund from gigsalad and if that doesn't work I'll personally REFUND your deposit through the methods provided to you. And keep in mind, not simply because of this negative review, but simply because it is the RIGHT thing to do. I've been doing what I deeply love for 20 years and take it VERY seriously, in spite of what you.may think. Again, your deposit is still with gigsalad, not me. Ms. Abriel, you and I both know you did not leave any specifics in relation to that particular subject of refunding you (let's be real).
Number Four: after hanging up leaving you a message I received the call as a reminder of the funeral service for my Aunt, and being my schedule is extremely busy, it crossed my mind once again after being reminded. Her funeral services was the same day of your event, during the same time. I wish, with everything in me, I could post my Aunt's obituary here as proof but unfortunately this reply board doesn't provide the options.
Above all else, I sincerely apologize for not being able to service your event, in hopes you'll succeed in finding someone else for your future events. Have a blessed day.
I would not hesitate to book this service again. Carmen was communicative, showed up on time, and was kind to all of our guests. Plus, she does great work!

Hello, my name is Dena. Aside from my main occupation as a medication tech and caregiver, which is an appreciated essential hustle and bustle, I enjoy my outlet in face painting. In 1994 I've decided to turn a hobby into a money-making experience and joyed it ever since. That same year, I started working at Six Flags AstroWorld for 2 years until the theme park closed down. Next, it was at Kemah Boardwalk for 2 years until the company's contract ended. From that point, I've been working under an agency to maintain gigs. I'm spearheaded with 15 to 20 years' experience and looking to add Henna along with paint and sip events to my business. The biggest reward of all from face painting is seeing the smiles on the children's and parents' faces after my work is completed. What you see in my book isn't exactly what you get. I only ask that you provide good lighting for great displays for all to see while I'm painting, which makes it much easier for me to bring out the best in my work. To simplify, no special lighting is required but the typical lighting is usually found in your house or place of business. So, no dark areas.
