For a unique, moving, and memorable service, celebrate with J.S. Bach's Suites for Solo Cello performed by Daniel Daughtry-Weiss. My CelloWeddings service includes 50 minutes solo cello music before or after the ceremony as well as the ceremony itself. Listen to me on SoundCloud and read about why I do this below!
Daniel was punctual, professional, and performed all the selections excellently. We are incredibly grateful to him for playing at our wedding this year. The music provided a beautiful sense of elegance to the proceedings. He played Bach selections for half an hour or so while guests entered, then play the wedding party out during the processional. Finally, at our personal request, he played us out to Edelweiss--which our guests told us was an especially moving moment.
Not only was the music top notch, Daniel was easy to reach easy to work with, and good about confirming we were on the same page for the important details. In a process filled with stressful things to worry about, once we connected with Daniel, the cello music was never again one of them! We highly recommend!

Thankyou so much for making our day extra special!
Daniel did a fabulous job. I hired him for my grandmothers funeral. He brought a sense of peace to all of us. We couldn’t be more grateful. He is an amazing musician and I can’t recommend him enough. He was very flexible and easy to work with.

I love playing the cello, and I love playing the Bach Suites. Good music creates a charged atmosphere. It speaks directly to our hearts about what it means to be human and to the significance of life. What better place to have powerful, live music than at a wedding?
At a wedding, I have the opportunity to elevate a truly meaningful moment, to set it apart. My goal is to open the hearts of unsuspecting listeners–bride and groom included–to the incredible meaning and value of their commitment as celebrated in the wedding vows and ceremony.
In addition to weddings, I play with period instrument groups, professional string ensembles, and orchestras in the Washington, DC area. I have appeared locally with the Bach Sinfonia and Washington Bach Consort and I plays currently with the Prince George’s Philharmonic and National String Sinfonia. I earned the Master of Music degree in historical performance/baroque cello from Oberlin Conservatory. I honed my baroque cello skills under Catharina Meints (Oberlin, formerly of the Cleveland Orchestra), Phoebe Carrai (Longy School of Music, formerly of Musica Antiqua Koln).
