Touted as “Milwaukee’s Top Torch Singer” four-time WAMI (Wisconsin Area Music Industry) Award winner Chanel le Meaux’s style has been described as a mash up between sultry and sassy, yet distinctly loungey. The band’s repertoire spans from sultry standards to soulful, old school R&B/Motown, to contemporary faves. Chanel le Meaux & the Dapper Cads give a nod to old school with their impeccable dress, but their talent far exceeds their look. The band features solid players from the Berkelee College of Music and Wisconsin Conservatory of Music on sax, keys, drums and percussion. Perfect for any occasion that requires the sophistication and class of days gone by.
Chanel le Meaux and the Dapper Cads plain and simple were sheer perfection on our wedding day. Our nontraditional vintage cocktail party wedding was full of great music and an electric energy cauzed by Chanel and the Cads. Everyone felt like they walked into a vintage jazz club. We received so many amazing compliments on Chanel. From her retro vibe, to her amazing Adele-like voice. People were doing back flips for her awesomness. The band also learned many songs specifically for us and even played some during our actual wedding ceremony (which was fabulous!). The guests wish the band could have played all night long! We even had guest go to The Packing House restaruant the following Friday just to see Chanel perform again....yep, she was that great.
All in all, it was the best day of our lives and Chanel le Meaux and the Dapper Cads helped to make the day one to always remember.
We booked Chanel le Meaux and the Dapper Cads for our wedding, and they did a FANTASTIC job! We’ve gotten so many compliments about how awesome they were and how much people enjoyed their music. Per our request they even learned and played a kick a** version of Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots by the Flaming Lips! We also asked if they could play Dizzy Gillespie’s Salt Peanuts and to our surprise they nailed it perfectly! My high school friends absolutely loved it when they heard it, it was one of the songs we did in band. Overall Chanel was great to work with and we would definitely book them again.
Chanel and her band were absolutely excellent at our wedding recently. They worked with us prior to the wedding to be sure our expectations would be met and they far exceeded what we thought we would get on our big day! They played a very diverse variety of songs from jazz to Motown and beyond. They have a great sense of humor, are playful, and very classy. Everyone loved them, from our twenty-something friends to our grandparents. We highly recommend them and hope to have them again for our anniversary party!
