Charles Rangel

Charles Rangel blew away our expectations for our event. Nearly every guest at our reception told me how amazing and wonderful they thought Charles performed. I'm not sure he took a breath or a break for nearly 4 hours, which was just remarkable. His music is truly exceptional. On top of that, he is one of the nicest guys you'd ever want to meet. I cannot thank him enough, or recommend him enough for any future event.

Charles was amazing!! He played for my wedding ceremony and I couldn’t be happier. All of my family and friends loved him and his performance was wonderful. I didnt have to give him much direction except what I wanted to walk down to and he flawlessly integrated that into everything else. Everyone at the venue was impressed by his professionalism and performance. It is hard to know what to expect when looking for an artist online but Charles sent many videos of him performing various song including his work on my requested song, perfect by Ed Sheeran. He was exceptional and versatile. I would definitely recommend him for ANYTHING.

Charles was the very best musician we have ever had to work with! Not only was he professional but immediately likable and warm. If you are looking for a talented musician who has a unique gift and craft that they have woodshedded to perfection - Charles Rangel will meet and even surpass all of your expectations!

Charles was communicative and came prepared and when he started to play it was great! Our corporate guests(a bunch of music enthusiasts) enjoyed his music choices and we enjoyed working with him. Great choice!

Let me start by saying Charles is an amazing artist with tons of talent! Wow!... he went well beyond any expectation I had.

I wanted to find an amazing place and method to propose to my girlfriend. With my ring picked out and plans to spend a few days in Santa Barbara I started researching the area and different ideas. We love the ocean and music so I settled on Mesa Lane Steps as a location. A perfect little hidden staircase heading down to a gorgeous beach in The Mesa. I checked the sunset times and crossed my fingers for good weather that day.

With location and time set I turned my search to create a romantic and special surprise for the love of my life. With music in mind I stumbled across Gigsalad. Charles Rangel quickly responded and I started watching his videos and realized his unique, rhythmic guitar tapping was perfect for my occasion.

We started communicating back and forth and I asked about his music list. I took a shot in the dark and asked if he would be open to learn one of our songs. Charles without hesitation took my idea and ran with it. Within a few days he sent me a beautiful video rendition of "Stone" by Alessia Cara. I was floored by his attention to detail, originality, and professionalism. A week later he asked for another song... I quickly asked if Edge of Desire by John Mayer, her favourite song. Again Charles mastered this song for us and sent me another video. I also picked Stairway to Heaven (from his playlist) as the song he would play as we approached him on the Mesa Lane Steps.

I had teased my girlfriend about a secret/surprise activity the last week before we arrived. She was intrigued and wanted to know what I had planned. I made a game of it and gave her some very difficult clues.
-Led Zeppelin
-Word scramble for our destination
Etc etc

She really had no idea.

The day was upon us in Santa Barbara. Charles emailed me in the morning letting me know everything was on schedule and he'd be there early....playing/warming up. At 4pm her surprise was coming up. I could tell she was excited. After a quick drive we arrived at the steps. We were a few mins early so we slowly walked over to the Mesa Lane Steps sign. Here is your word scramble I said...she laughed. Once I could hear Charles guitar I stopped at the top and we looked out over the ocean. Within seconds he switched and started playing Stairway to Heaven. I watched her face as she pieced the connection between The clue Led Zeppelin and the song being played in the distance. She said to me smiling and freaking out... what is happening? I grabbed her hand tight and smiled and said come with me. We walked down the flight of steps and Charles was there playing away. Charles sounds even better in person!

I positioned us overlooking the sunset and Charles a few feet away. Within moments Charles began playing "Stone". She recognized it instantly and started to cry. How he beautifully he picked and tapper ed the song while her vocals played was touching. The moment was perfect and Charles and I planned a 30 second section in the middle of the song where he would slow down. I got down on one knee and proposed. She was crying, so happy and said yes!

As we hugged and laughed and took photos Charles played another song that was uplifting. And when we regrouped he played Edge of Desire for her. A second touching moments for us. He play as we headed down the last steps to walk on the beach. Perfect Day!

That moment will forever be in our memories. I want to thank you Charles Rangel for your talents, your creativeness, how well you communicated and your overall professionalism. I could not have done this without you. We hope that maybe someday we can hear you play our song again.

Charles was absolutely FANTASTIC!. Great musician. I had numerous compliments from people at our event commenting on much they were enjoying his music. Thank you again Charles, we couldnt have asked for anything better
