Acoustic music that's good for the soul.
Since 2009, Chasing Grace's unique acoustic sounds and girl harmonies have graced entertainment venues, restaurants and churches throughout Kansas City, infusing musical surprises into original arrangements of pop songs and worship music. One common thread runs through everything we play: inspiration. So while you may not know where we’re headed musically, you can be assured our songs always point toward hope.
The main thing we have in common?: A heart for worship. Nothing speaks to our hearts more than creating an authentic environment for others to enter into the presence of God in true, heartfelt worship through music.

About Chasing Grace
Though we come from different musical backgrounds, life experiences and viewpoints, somehow we—Jen Deardorff, Jenny Jesse and Kelly Crane—all came together. The patchwork of circumstances that led us to each other turned out to be a well-ordered path. We're friends. We're musicians. Why not be a band? The musical collaboration seemed meant to be.
Our music is stripped down, acoustic, with a raw, authentic vibe. We create original arrangements of songs that we—and hopefully you—already know and connect with. We love to infuse musical surprises into song interpretations...adding bluesy chords, paring down to just keys and djembe, trying a new tempo. Yet one common thread runs through everything we play: inspiration. Not ‘inspiration' in a Velveeta, smile-for-the-camera kind of way...but in a real life, “if we can't make sense of this, let's at least make the best of this” kind of way. So—while you may not know where we're headed musically, you can be assured our songs are always pointing toward hope.
As for the name, it is the result of more than two years of soul-searching and spiritual intuition. We all realized that we—and many other women we know—constantly feel like we need to chase after grace... to try to earn it through our own efforts.
In life we struggle to find grace in situations where we know we should be more understanding, but the human condition gets the best of us. Thus we are constantly "chasing grace" trying to strive for the best.
We hope our songs bring encouragement for all of us to stop chasing grace and just LIVE in it.
