Sherri Wheatley is a Tribal Fusion bellydancer & fire dancer with 22 years of experience. I have had the opportunity to teach dance and perform all over the world including Prague, South Africa, Venezuela, Ukraine & St. Petersburg, RU. I have performed with several critically acclaimed performance groups including Urban Tribal Dance Co (SD), Desert Sin (LA), Lucent Dossier Vaudeville Cirque (LA) & Zen Arts (LA). Highlights of my performance history include Musee De Femme: Tales of the Grotesque & Arabesque, a long running show in Hollywood, Elon Musk's 40th birthday party in Venice, Italy, Scooter Brauns 30th birthday party in Hollywood and at a beautiful historical theatre in Barcelona.
I shouldn’t say I didn’t like dance. It didn’t captivate me. I hired Cherchez La Femme as an obligatory dance entertainer for a party I was throwing. Mesmerizing is an understatement. What I figured would be background entertainment literally took center state and never let it go. I didn’t really have words to describe or truly understand what we all experienced, but it wasn’t simply fire dancing, or belly dancing. Whatever I thought those meant before, I was wrong. Transcendent, captivating…. Like a Titaness or Torso stepped from the pages of mythology and drew us into her world. Amazing. Can’t say enough about this amazing artist

She is distinguishable in her unique serpentine stylization, an interpretation that stylistically involves extreme muscle control and articulation. She is also an extremely versatile dancer and can morph from one extreme physical state to the next in an instant. In 2022, she moved back to San Diego after 19 years in LA. She continues to study dance in various incarnations and teaches tribal fusion classes and workshops both locally and abroad.
