An audience member or client can expect total satisfaction and total interaction, favorites and requests. Since solo piano gigs are normally done in a manner that makes the musician approachable, I scan the crowd, bearing in mind the ages of the individuals and play to them specifically. If an audience member comments on a Cole Porter or Scott Joplin piece, a few more of those will be thrown in. At a private party, if someone wants to "sing-a-long", we make it happen.
