Christine Kharazian is a concert violinist and music educator, with an active performing and teaching practice. She performs at private and corporate events - parties, receptions, weddings, etc, solo or in a group.
With a compelling mastery of the violin she is equally comfortable in a variety of musical genres ranging from classical to jazz and fiddle music. If you are requesting an ensemble, the instrumentation will be altered to your desire. Possibilities include, but are not limited to: classical string trio, quartet, violin and piano; violin and guitar; violin, harmonica & guitar;flute, violin and cello.
Christine provided all of the music we requested and then some in the genres that we discussed. I hired Christine after interviewing several people but appreciated her listening skills and eagerness to make our sons rehearsal dinner as wonderful as we imagined. Christine is a very talented musician and is a pleasure to work with, I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for a violinist.
Response from Christine Kharazian:
Thank you Susan, It was a pleasure to be a part of your celebration!
Christine called and coordinated all of the details before hand. She follow-up a few days before and then again the night before my event. She arrived on-time, although she had to drive over an hour in heavy traffic. She played beautifully!! She was a joy to work with.
Response from Christine Kharazian:
Thank you, Lytwaive! It was truly a pleasure to play for your beautifully organized event. Best wishes!
Christine played for our parents on Mother’s Day during the challenging time of COVID when we were prevented from traveling to see them. She was respectful and practiced safe physical distancing while playing a variety of moving and beautiful pieces. It was even more wonderful than what we had envisioned, and she did so much more than just play a concert. She gave them hope and light and healing and a blessed reminder that the beautiful parts of our world go on. We can’t thank you enough, Christine!!
Christine was timely, graciously waited for the appropriate time and did an absolutely AMAZING job when she performed. I am immensely thankful, she truly was the perfect touch to a great birthday evening.
Thank you.
Kindest regards,
Marie-Claude
Thank you Gig Salad and Christine for a wonderful wedding experience! Christine arrived on time, played beautifully for an outdoor wedding/renewal ceremony, and kept our guests musically entertained while enjoying cocktails and appetizers on the winery patio. Thank you all again! Sincerely, Ahmad and Linda Kangarloo

Christine Kharazian is a concert violinist. A graduate of Komitas State Conservatory and the Tchaikovsky School of Music in Armenia, Christine studied violin with Prof. Edward Dayan, and Prof. Hrachia Harutunyan, pupils of two famous Russian violinists, David Oistrakh and Leonid Kogan. Her early performance experience includes playing with Armenian National Opera's Symphony, and a soloist with the Sharakan Ensemble of Armenian TV and Radio. Christine has been an active performer in the area since arriving in Washington DC in 1999. She has performed in concerts at the Kennedy Center, Strathmore Hall, Dumbarton House, the Library of Congress and various Embassies in Washington, among other venues. Musical curiosity led Christine to explore different genres from Gypsy Jazz to Brazilian Choro. As a versatile and adventurous musician she performs often with various ensembles including Orchester Praževica and is the featured violinist of Swansong. An alumna of the Inspired Teaching Institute, she teaches at the Duke Ellington School of the Arts and Sidwell Friends and is a teaching artist with Washington Performing Arts. Christine enjoys experimenting with the merging of art forms, such as theater and music. Christine was cast as the Wind in Quotidian Theatre Company’s 2015 production of Anton Chekhov’s “A Little Trick.” and later in 2016 production of Chekhov’s “The Lady with the Little Dog”. The director Stephanie Mumford, in her adaptation of Chekhov’s short story, devised a part with Kharazian in mind: the violin-playing wife of Dmitry Gurov. Christine's original composition Valse Astolfi won the 2nd prize of the 2021 Unsigned Only competition.
