As a Christmas caroling musician or as one of Santa’s elves, Carlos will enhance your holiday celebration by playing a Xmas tune, telling a story, or leading a sing-along. To evoke a joyful Yuletide mood, he also dresses in costume.
Carlos’ experience includes innumerable performances in the classical, jazz, liturgical, and improvisational genres. He has told stories to audiences of all ages in the US, Canada, and Europe, at festivals, celebrations, and schools. He has added his flute, as a narrative voice, to drama productions.
Drawing from this experience, an extensive education, and a love of Xmas tradition, Carlos will charm your guests and entice them into the spirit of the holi

Carlos Xavier
Carlos has earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music (classical, jazz and ethnic) and performed in orchestras and ensembles, including the S. F. Opera Orchestra and in various groups in Europe. He has led his own chamber and jazz combos and performed as a soloist.
In 2007 he was invited to perform at the National Flute Convention in Albuquerque. In 2009 he was invited to perform in NYC and had the opportunity to play with Hubert Laws and Lew Tabackin, two prominent artists in the jazz world.
Currently, Carlos continues to perform classical, jazz, liturgical, and other types of music - solo, with other instrumentalists, and with other performing groups.
He sang for several seasons with the Oakland Opera Company, and directs an all womens’ singing group, The Messengers.
Retired from career as a computer professional, Carlos has also worked as a professional tour guide leading groups in the U.S., Canada, and Europe., where he started entertaining his tour guests with fascinating stories based on the areas they visited.
He storytells regularly at local schools and at other events, often incorporating music into his stories.
At other times, when he is not on an exotic trip, he can be found flyfishing on a local river or making bamboo flutes or carving walking sticks in his workshop.
Varies with each performance venue. I am always ready to discuss specifics with the goal of attaining a solution satisfactory to all concerned parties.
