I am a classical guitarist and I perform solo guitar music ranging from musical periods of the Renaissance up to contemporary music. I am an arranger and perform many of my own arrangements of pieces as well or I can arrange a specific piece you would like to hear on the classical guitar. I give performances for weddings, parties, romantic dinners, or full program concerts. Please contact me with a specific occasion which you would like to have a classical guitarist for and we can discuss how we would like to arrange the performance!
Christopher created the perfect ambience for our event.
Response from Christopher Schoelen - Classical Guitarist:
Thank you Pam for the very kind review. It was a pleasure performing for your event and it was a beautifully set up and arranged event. I was very happy that the guests enjoyed it and thank you for booking me for the evening! It would be my pleasure to perform there again and if you ever need a voice/guitar duo my wife is a soprano. Thank you again and hope you had a wonderful weekend! -Christopher
Excellent experience
Response from Christopher Schoelen - Classical Guitarist:
Thank you for the review and for having me play at your wedding and reception! Best to you both in your new chapter together!
Christopher was amazing! He engaged with all of us at a personal level and displayed his virtuoso skills with warmth. He closed with a piece that knocked the socks off the attendees of our intimate baby shower and left everyone asking “where did you find him?” The last piece entitled “recuerdos de la Alhambra” left a lingering aura of special attention and was perfect for the anticipation of the bundle of joy about to arrive. He incorporated a request piece executed flawlessly and learned just for the occasion with his own interpretation that gave it just the right touch; he took a very difficult Chopin prelude adapted from piano for guitar and made it look so easy; he included a Brahms piece and talked to us in between these lovely selections sharing generously of himself and personalizing the event for the expecting parents and the guests. We were delighted to have Christopher and it still feels like a dream a week later.
Response from Christopher Schoelen - Classical Guitarist:
Thank you so much Eugenia! It was wonderful to perform at this event for you and your guests. Thank you for being a wonderful host and I hope we are able to plan a performance together again in the future! Glad to hear you are enjoying my duo's CD and have a wonderful holiday season!
Chris was so attentive to our audience and space.
Everyone loved him and he will be back by popular demand!
Response from Christopher Schoelen - Classical Guitarist:
Thank you Kate! It was a pleasure to perform for your event and I hope to be able to work with you again in the future!
Please do let me know if you would be interested in having a classical guitar concert or guitar & voice concert as my wife and I perform as a duo frequently. Thank you again and I hope to present a music program again with you soon!
We semi-circled around Christopher and his guitar and let him work his magic at our family event. His playing was gorgeous and well received by everyone in our small crowd of about forty people of mixed ages. The program, which I had discussed with Christopher just in the week prior to his appearance (and sent him sheet music), involved first letting him play a couple pieces of his own choosing and then performing some specific, even obscure, folk songs familiar to us from the years when my Dad would play guitar for our family. With Christopher's talent, understanding, and indispensable help, we succeeded in encouraging almost everyone at one point or another, with one song or another, to sing along. Towards the end of our time, Christopher accompanied me while I sang the John Denver song 'Perhaps Love'. My father and family were moved. We are coping with my Dad's acute Leukemia diagnosis, and this event (the capstone of a weekend) gave everyone an opportunity to come into town and spend time joyous time together. It was a gift. Christopher's support was key. He concluded with a remarkable classical piece that left us all admiring what we had the privilege to hear that afternoon. Thank you Christopher.
We booked Christopher for a "Saturday Night Out" dinner and show for our residents. I discussed the menu for the evening, a 3-course meal with Spanish influences, and he was able to tailor his music to fit the menu. We have many residents who have a background in music, both teaching and performing, and they were all very complimentary of him. Our events require a bit of personality and willingness to interact with the residents as well and Christopher handled that part equally as well. Very talented and professional. We look forward to hosting him again in the future.
Christopher played at our Christmas party and it was great! I had so many people tell me they really enjoyed it. We appreciated that he traveled so far also!
Christopher was an excellent addition to our "Night in Spain " Dinner at Page House Bed & Breakfast in Dublin, Georgia! Our guests were delighted with his performance! Thank you so much! We will hire him again soon! JoAnn Simms, Owner/Innkeeper

Thank you JoAnn for the wonderful review! It was a pleasure meeting you and playing for the “Night in Spain” event. I look forward to hopefully performing for another event there soon!
Christopher played beautifully and was cheerful and pleasant. Excellent repertoire, sensitive interpretation.
We had a small wedding ceremony in a park, and Chris was great in creating a beautiful song program, including a special request to compose a version of one of our favorite songs. He's a very nice, professional person and very good about staying in touch and making sure all the details of the event are ironed out. I highly recommend him.

I perform pieces of a wide range of genres; from Renaissance, classical, contemporary, pop, blues, folk, and spiritual pieces. If you came to see me in a concert you could see me performing as a solo artist, in chamber music settings, and with my voice and guitar duo, Deux Saisons.
A passionate and sensitive artist, Christopher has always loved the dazzling and wondrous sounds that music has to offer. From blues to heavy punk rock, he has examined and draws his influences from several genres. But the music that truly ignites his soul is the delicate sound of Classical Guitar. Christopher takes great delight in sharing with both American and European audiences the stories and music that he has come to love with all his heart.
Originally from east-central Vermont, Christopher completed a Bachelor of Arts degree from Humboldt State University under the instruction of Nicholas Lambson. He went on to perform solo and with a variety of musical groups throughout California and also on the East Coast. Later, he moved to Seville, Spain to learn flamenco guitar and further his study of classical music with the internationally known guitarist, Fransisco Bernier.
After just finished a Masters of Music degree at the New England Conservatory, Christopher is honing his technique and delving deeper into the vast repertoire of this genre under the tutelage of the world-renowned guitarist, Eliot Fisk. He regularly performs works of Bach, Villa-Lobos, Scarlatti, Rodrigo and other well-known composers.
