A native of Wilmington, NC, Maddie began studying violin at the age of two with her mom, Anne Stohl, who is a Suzuki violin teacher. Maddie is currently a junior at East Carolina University where she studies violin performance with Hye-Jin Kim and viola with Ara Gregorian. She has participated at summer festivals such as the Richard Luby Violin Symposium, Apple Hill Center for Chamber Music, and the Summer Chamber Music Institute at ECU. Along with performing, Maddie has also been teaching Suzuki violin since the 7th grade and has completed the Suzuki Pedagogy class with Joanne Bath while being at ECU. Maddie has performed for many weddings and other special events in collaboration with her sister, Camden, mom, and ECU colleagues.
